Well it could do well but for that the actors and writers have to step up.I watched D3 from first epi and the reasons i feel D3 was a smash hit was because :
1) Its was a pathbreaking show and first time such show was coming on indian TV.
2) The first lead pair were already famous because they had awesome chemistry from another reality show. The makers utilized this brilliantly. 👏
3) The second lead pair were brilliant in whatever they did. They were supporting in the start but they made such a huge impact and IMO surpassed the main lead pair that CVs had no option but to make them leads as well.
4) Very good supporting actors, the 8 supporting actors were brilliant. Also D3 had so many characters that story never became boring and deviated from point in the start. Being rookies no one actually bothered about acting for first year. Uttu is not a rookie. He has to step up from first week for show to work.
5) Fantastic dance sequences. I remember every dance sequence so so well. 👏 This is also a dance based show and the dances have to be wonderful to be remembered by the indian audience which is generally very fickle minded.
6) Relaxed copyright laws. 🥱 For the first 2 years there was almost no restriction of where to upload videos and Youtube helped a lot in making D3 popular. I remember the huge number of VMs, scenes, dances on youtube in 2011/12, infact channel v themselves uploaded some episodes on youtube. Now with the strict and idiotic copyright laws its difficult to achieve that level of popularity.
7) Story and script, the story was brillaint in first year. The college environment and the fight between bullies and underdogs always gets attention. 😃
D4 can't do all of these but surely do what they have in hand like fantastic dance performances, very good script.
