Who were Babur and Aurangzeb? They were not even religious figures in Islam. They were emperors and conquerors. Nor did any Prophet or Islamic religious figure give sermons in these places. These mosques were built not out of devotion or reverence to their God, but to subdue the non-muslims / Hindus. Trying to tightly hold on to these structures that are nothing but a symbol of aggression, is the testimony of the fact the mindset that made invaders like Babur, and Aurangzeb break our temples, has very much carried forward from medieval times to the 21st century. An ideology of brute force that still manifests itself when temples are broken in Bangladesh, Hindu religious processions are attacked in India, or when Hindus are annihilated in Pakistan. An ideology that must be defeated.

Our holy idols were buried under the steps of newly constructed invader's holy places, the shivlinga was used to wash feet, so that the disrespect could make anyone shudder, and the pillars were left as a reminder of continued supremacy. These invaders are not the ancestors of majority of the modern people who are fighting on their behalf, nor have any religious legitimacy. Most of their actual ancestors were put into such horrific situations that they had to convert in order to save their lives, and to continue to glorify the misdeeds of invaders is just shameful. This issue was ALWAYS about about the people of the land reclaiming what is theirs from invaders who plundered the holy sites, even our Ahilya Bai Holkar was a believer in reconstruction of lost temples and it was her dream to see Kashi Vishwanath Temple back to its prior glory, which is why she built a temple adjacent to the Gyanvapi mosque in 1776-77, however as it is, Nandiji still faces his original Mahadev. This has taken another angle just to continue the appeasement.
