Dropping Dravid a mistake, says Younis Khan

KARACHI, October 31: Senior Pakistan batsman Younis Khan believes India have made a mistake by omitting former captain Rahul Dravid for their first two One-Day Internationals.

Pakistan travel to India on Thursday for five One-Day Internationals and three Tests.

"Dravid has led from the front and he is a fantastic player," Younis told Reuters on Wednesday.

"If India doesn't perform well in the first two games the blame game will start, and their selectors and team will come under more pressure. It is to our advantage."

Younis, tipped to be named vice captain for the Indian tour, said the series would be a defining one for the younger players and those still establishing themselves in the team.

"The pressure is very high playing in India. People have a lot of expectations from you and the media attention and hype is also great," he said.

"It is a make or break tour for players".

I agree wid Younis Khan......dropping a player such great and experienced like Dravid is a mistake!

well then how come they lost to austraila by 4-2? 😕 its not a twenty match series.. ..all i m saying is that dravid is a very experienced player.. he is a nightmare for any bowler...

i totally agree with u fiza..the prob is all of us are forgetting dat dravid is the anchor role player...hes d wall damed..how can dey drop him form the squad.. 😃 😕

2020 and ODI as well as test cricket r really different forms of cricket!! In 20 20, u dont need any class or elegance.........or any experience.....coz wat u hav to do in 20 20 is just to slog slog n slog!!😕
Take the example of Mohammed Yousuf........He wasnt there in the 20 20 WC, stil Pak got to the final....just becoz in 20 20 u need quick,fresh players...who can slog.........but see, Pak didnt drop him for the next series...he played such an important role in the test matches as well as the ODI series wid SA!!😕😛The thing is simple......U do need experience wen u r playing a series as imp as Pak vs India.....and u do need players like Dravid n Yousuf....becoz Tests n ODI's do require experience...

yeah.....just becoz India won 20 20 without him!!😕😕Imagine wat wud hav become of Pak team if Yousuf wasnt there in the ODI series wid SA!

if aus is soo good why did we beat them in 2 games? yhh big deal..they beat us by one two games, atleast we can proudly sat that we smashed them by 7 wickets now that we have our players are back in form! in the last game we played, iuno if u noticed but who made the most runs? the YOUNG players! the ppl who have the will to prove themselves! legends will always be legends no matter what😉but the youngsters need 2 try and be that legend one day too! well we will see wont we when we do sum serious smashing in these series=D

big up our young players. and yh, will always luv the big 3..esp. tendulkar always. bruv, at da end of da day dey still INDIAN so i dnt care lol.

India lost ODI's against aussies really badly.... and this time they will white wash the indian team(inshallah)😳. i bet if india had to play against sri lanka they wud have never come to the finals.. we have beaten both the final team of the WC with huge margin in the twenty match.. so wot if the luck wasn't on our side in the last match.. if india had lost u wudn't have said anything lyke that.... there was a time when dravid was india's hero.. and now they don't even wanna put him in the team.. please support ur team but don't be rude to the others... all they are saying is that dravid shudn't have been dropped.... .. i got angry when they dropped inzy coz inzy is such a experienced batsmen.... and thats exactly how i feel for dravid..... its just cricket.. noone is going to kill anyone..so relax!
