Saqibul is one of the rising stars of the Bangladesh team
Bangladesh all-rounder Saqibul Hasan is doubtful for the ICC World Twenty20 tournament in South Africa after injuring his right index finger.
"The finger is under a protective cap at present. The team physio will monitor his position in three or four days," a team spokesman said.
Saqibul suffered the injury during practice for a four-team warm-up event in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.
Bangladesh beat Kenya by five wickets in their opening game on Saturday.
But they will need their strongest side available if they are to progress beyond the first round of the ICC tournament, having been drawn in the same first round group as hosts South Africa and West Indies.
Saqibul, 20, made a positive impression during the World Cup in the Caribbean earlier this year, hitting two half centuries and taking seven wickets with his left-arm spin.
And he has been included in the list of nominees for the ICC emerging player of the year award, which will be announced at a ceremony in Johannesburg on 10 September.
