Sri Lanka claim consolation win
One-day international, Abu Dhabi: Sri Lanka 296-9 (50 ovs) bt Pakistan 181 (42.5 ovs) by 115 runs
Mahela Jayawardene
Jayawardene played a typical captain's innings in Abu Dhabi
Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 115 runs in their third and final one-day international in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. The World Cup finalists made 296-9 while Pakistan, who had already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series, were 181 all out off 42.5 overs. Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene made 83 after choosing to bat, sharing a stand of 124 with Chamara Silva. Pakistan slumped from 61-1 to 70-6, with only Shoaib Malik's unbeaten 79 giving them anything to cheer about. Dilhara Fernando was the pick of the Sri Lanka bowlers, taking 3-20 off seven overs. Earlier in the day, an opening partnership of 62 between Upul Tharanga and Sanath Jayasuriya got Tom Moody's side off to a promising start. Jayawardene and Silva then took control of proceedings with a fourth-wicket stand of 124 to boost Sri Lanka's total. Jayawardene was the first to reach his 50 in as many balls, including four fours and two sixes, while Silva was more reserved with the bat, needing 69 balls to reach the mark.

Iftikhar Anjum was the pick of the Pakistan bowlers, finishing with 3-52 off his 10 overs

COngrats to Sri Lankan team!!

Pakistan team was full of new comers today. so it was very doubtful that they would have won. none of the expert players were playing.

so thats ok. Pakistan won the series and that matters the most. 😃
