Hello everyone! It's the oldest rivalry in cricket - Australia vs England! Both teams come into this competition on the back of ODI series losses in the subcontinent. While England were whitewashed 3-0 by India, the Aussies lost both the ODIs in Colombo against Sri Lanka who aren't part of this Champions Trophy. The good news for them is that spin - which troubled them a lot - is not expected to play a big role here in Lahore. In the recently concluded tri-series, New Zealand amassed 330 against Pakistan and then hunted down South Africa's 304 comfortably at the Gaddafi Stadium. So, we could witness a run-fest. Expect England, under Buttler and McCullum, to play an aggressive brand of cricket. They have already announced their XI with Jamie Smith set to bat at three. Australia's bowling attack is very inexperienced in the absence of their pace trio (Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood) but there's a lot of firepower in their batting. It's never easy to bet against the World Champions in ICC events. England, meanwhile, are yet to win the Champions Trophy. Stick around, this promises to be a mouth-watering clash.
