Day 2, 1:45pm local time (8:15am IST) Hello and welcome everyone to ESPNcricinfo's ball-by-ball drop-by-drop coverage of this two-day one-day pink-ball warm-up fixture. India's hopes of getting two full days under the Canberra sun (and the floodlights) were, metaphorically and literally, washed away yesterday.

Today, they (and the fans) arrive with renewed hope, and they will want to sneak in as much cricket as possible (weather permitting, of course), especially after their most recent run-in with the pink ball in this part of the world.

2pm First things first. The weather, at the moment, seems much better than yesterday and we are moving towards an on-time start. The toss, meanwhile, will take place at 2:10pm local time (8:40am IST).

2:05pm This will be a 50-overs-per-side contest, with no restrictions on how many overs a bowler can bowl. No field restrictions either. There is a 30-minute break scheduled in between the two sets of 50 overs, rather than the day being divided into three sessions, as is usual in First-Class cricket.

Paras Dua : "I moved to Canberra (from India) just recently. I'm on the way to the ground and really hoping to catch the Indian team in action soon - weather gods, please don't give us any more rain!!"

Here's a snippet from Alagappan, our eyes and ears at the venue: No sign of any covers anywhere. Both teams are out there doing last minute drills. It's 20 degrees so not warm or cold, just the kind of weather which makes you ask for that one extra over when you're bowling well. And given Thunderstuck was playing as I walked into the ground, everyone should be sufficiently pumped.

2:15pm An interesting but perhaps the right decision by India to bowl first. If the rain stays away, which looks likely at the moment, they will get a chance to bat under lights and experience what could be their toughest challenge in Adelaide in a week's time.

2:13pm India have won the toss and they have elected to field first.

2:39pm India get into their huddle. Bumrah is not among those, with Deep, Siraj, Rana and Jadeja present. Easwaran, Sarfaraz and Sundar are there too, as is Padikkal.

2:35pm Not long before India's bowlers get cracking with the pink ball. They will want to build on the momentum they generated in Perth and hit their straps in preparation for Adelaide quickly. A good chance, on the other hand, for Konstas and Renshaw to strengthen their respective credentials.
