Australia have won the toss and opted to bat
Time for the toss. Cummins and Edwards are out in the middle, so no surprises there. Cummins gives it a flick. Edwards calls heads but it comes down as tails. Australia will bat first. Says it is a lovely wicket and with the sun out, it is a good time to bat. Adds that Head returning today was a bridge too far and that he might need a few more days to be back. One change for Australia - Marcus Stoinis is out, with Cameron Green coming in.
Edwards says that they would have bowled first anyway, so they have gotten what they wanted. Adds that they are keen to put more runs on the board. No changes for Netherlands.
Thank-you very much for the tag and good luck to all the players .
Thanks for the tag...π§‘π
Pat Cummins: We will have a bat. Looks like a lovely wicket. The sun is out. Happy with the way we have played the last couple of games. The bridge is still too far for Head. Stoinis has a niggly calf. Cam Green comes in.
Scott Edwards: We were looking to bowl first. Team is in good place. We have played good cricket but not for long enough. We would want to rectify that. The boys would want to do well. No changes.
Pitch report by Pommie Mbangwa and Waqar Younis: The short square boundary is 61m, the other side is 69m. The straight hit is 72m and the longest is 76m. Same pitch as Sri Lanka and South Africa. Last time we had more grass, it was harder. This is less grass and less hard. A little sheen as well on the pitch. It should be a hard job for the bowlers, feels Waqar Younis. So another batting beauty and expect plenty of runs.
