I'd say this is a 80% England win.

Giving 20% to SA just because of home advantage.

England have several power hitters in their batting- Dunkley, Wyatt, Sciver and Jones can all score quickly. For SA, it's probably only Tryon really; the rest take their time to get going.

SA bowling is decent though- Kapp, Ismail and Khaka are all excellent. Mlaba should do okay if the wicket helps spinners. Fifth bowler is a bit of an issue for them.

2014 T20 World Cup. 2017 ODI World Cup. 2022 ODI World Cup. South Africa lost all three semi-finals of the aforementioned tournaments to the same opponent. No prizes for guessing which team that is. England have been a thorn in the flesh for the Proteas in World tournaments. Time for South Africa to turn the tables?

South Africa scrape to the semis: Having lost the tournament opener to Sri Lanka by 3 runs, the hosts were left shell-shocked and needed some luck along the way to stand a chance of making it to the knock-outs.

England's seamless journey to the semis: Alongside Australia, England are the only undefeated team in this tournament thus far.

South Africa scrape to the semis: Having lost the tournament opener to Sri Lanka by 3 runs, the hosts were left shell-shocked and needed some luck along the way to stand a chance of making it to the knock-outs. They thrashed New Zealand in the next game and were brushed aside by Australia five days later. New Zealand's huge margin of defeats to Australia and South Africa meant the home team still had a chance in the last league game of the tournament. A 10-wicket comprehensive win followed.

What happened the last time these two sides met in a T20 World Cup? Chasing 124 at the WACA (2020), South Africa needed 33 from the last three overs. Chloe Tryon and Mignon du Preez combined (thanks to some luck as well) scored 24 off the next 2 overs to bring the equation down to 9 off 6. The highly-rated du Preez (who is now on comm duties), smacked England's most-experienced bowler at the time, Brunt to six and a four off successive deliveries and clinched the game with 2 balls to spare.

Heather Knight: I'd have batted first too, wanted to put runs on the board. We talked about heat up our game, no matter what the opposition and match situation.

South Africa Women have won the toss and have opted to bat

Sune Luus: We're going to have a bat first. Looks a good wicket and we want to put runs on the board. Same team. To be in the semifinal of a World Cup is a special moment. It will be n exciting balance. Both teams are well-rounded and it'll be a challenge. Can't wait to take the field.

Toss time! Nasser Hussain is out there with the two captains and the match referee. Here we go!

Remember, England were knocked off in the semi-finals due to an abandoned game (rain) in the previous edition, and today the weather is anything but wet.

Pitch report: "There is a shorter side, 56 meters at one end and 62 meters at the other end. England are a six-hitting side and they will surely pepper the shorter side. Question is to make them hit to the longer side. Same pitch that was used yesterday. That was a high-scoring pitch. There will be no swing, looks a bit dry and it looks a good batting surface." reckon Pommie Mbangwa and Katie Martin in their analysis of the 22 yards.

Teams:

South Africa Women (Playing XI): Laura Wolvaardt, Tazmin Brits, Marizanne Kapp, Sune Luus(c), Chloe Tryon, Nadine de Klerk, Anneke Bosch, Sinalo Jafta(w), Shabnim Ismail, Ayabonga Khaka, Nonkululeko Mlaba

England Women (Playing XI): Danielle Wyatt, Sophia Dunkley, Alice Capsey, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Heather Knight(c), Amy Jones(w), Sophie Ecclestone, Katherine Sciver-Brunt, Charlotte Dean, Sarah Glenn, Lauren Bell

South Africa Women opt to bat
