India did not have a good start under skipper KL Rahul, who led the ODI team for the first time in the absence of new skipper Rohit Sharma. India lost on both occasions in the two ODIs played between the teams recently. Although the batters were capable of carrying out decent innings, the bowlers, however, lacked the flair needed to squeeze in the victory in the process. They got dominated by the SA batters who relentlessly played one great knock after another to seal the series victory. India could only hope for a consolation in the 3rd ODI.

Bowlers to watch--

Tabraiz Shamsi

Tabraiz Shamsi has done really well in ODIs in recent times, having picked up 11 wickets in his last 4 ODIs which makes him an in-form pick.

Shardul Thakur

Shardul Thakur has been more effective with the bat than the ball in this series as in the 2 matches so far he has scored 80 & 67 fantasy points respectively.

Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah has taken 15 wickets in 10 matches against South Africa in ODIs with never being wicketless in a match and thus fantasy points are guaranteed. The last time he played at this venue (Cape Town) he picked up 2/32 against the hosts.

Shikhar Dhawan provides the left-right batting combination to the opening duo for India and makes an experienced pillar alongside KL Rahul to start the Indian innings. This is one of the most lucrative bets in the match to look forward to, considering the fact that Dhawan is the highest ODI scorer for India over the past one year. He has played 6 ODI innings and managed to gather 297 runs from them at a stunning average of 59.40.

Dhawan has shown his batting prowess in the 147 ODI matches he has played in his career. The Indian opener has accumulated 6184 runs from them averaging 45.80. This will certainly weigh in positively for our betting tip. Dhawan has a good track record playing against the Proteas. He has appeared in 18 games against SA amassing 906 runs at an incredible average of 50.33. His scored - 98, 4, 67, 86*, 29, 13, 79 and 29 runs in the last 7 ODI matches he played. Dhawan's innings of 79 runs off 84 balls in the 1st ODI game was certainly an adrenaline-pumped innings to witness. Although he succumbed to a 29 run knock in the previous outing, he is expected to bounce back in the upcoming brawl in the 3rd ODI.
