The thing is that today Sony doesn't really need CID to survive. Its daily shows are doing a lot better and getting it way more attention. Its weekend shows are just there for entertainment. Beyadh, Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke, Pehredaar Piya Ki, Hanuman, and Bajirao were all getting good attention. Its new upcoming shows Haasil, Ek Deewana Tha, and Porus are also getting a lot of attention. So whether CID runs or not and what it runs on is not important for Sony. Now Sony will keep CID until it finds a better show to replace CID with or until the TRPs fall so low that it makes sense to pull CID off air.
I beg to disagree .
Buzz is not equal to ratings.
All of their shows were getting good attention, but apart from PPK and Hanuman (and maybe Vignaharta Ganesh will join the list ) , none of these shows ranked really well in the trp charts
Won't comment about the upcoming shows , but Sony 'S weekday shows will never ever be very much prominent.
Sony gets half most it's ratings from its weekend shows.
Only kbc from its weekday band may have a chance to survive.
Also most of the weekday shows on Sony is meant for metro city audience band
CID is one of the only show in TV right now that has the potential to attract both Urban and rural audience from all age groups.
But the somewhat inconvenient timings and the lack of Buzz is getting it low trps.
@Bold:complete truth.
But the thing is Sony will never find a better show to replace CID.
The show they might think is a good alternative to CID mightn't really work on the trp charts.
