Hello, hello, hello!

As 21st July approaches it is time for the annual birthday contest! This year the contest is full of fun and games and rona dhona. That's right. Because this year we're bringing to you a new and unique contest.

Whether you're a writer or a graphicer or a VM maker or just a creative idea generator, this contest is sure to get you working.

The contest is quite simple really: crossover. That's right. A simple crossover. Using any current track from an on-air TV show, you simply need to show Abhijeet solving the case. You can use any TV show: Dil Bole Oberoi, Ishaqbaaz, Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma, Maharaja Ranjit Singh, Beyadh, etc., etc., etc. You just need to use the current track of that show and have Abhijeet solve the case.

If you're a writer, you can write your case. If you're a graphicer you can show it through simple or complex graphics or you can pair up with a writer and add some lovely colours to their story. If you're a VM maker you can show the solution through a VM. It's up to you to put your creative mind to the test.

Of course no contest is complete without rules. And the rules of this contest are as follows:
  1. The show must be airing on Indian TV and it must be a current Indian TV show. No repeats of old shows will be allowed and neither will webseries be allowed.
  2. Use current tracks or tracks that will be shown in the next few weeks. Nothing of the past is allowed. This will be checked and any entries not meeting the requirements will be disqualified.
  3. The written episode can only be a maximum of 20 pages, Times New Roman, size 12 font. Anything more than that will not be accepted.
  4. Graphicers are welcome to ask other graphicers for help if they wish to show a story through graphics only. However, at least 60% of graphics must be your own.
  5. VMs must not exceed 20 minutes in length. They can be made using a mixture of text, graphics, videos, etc.
  6. Multiple entries are welcome.
  7. Final submission date is July 10th, 11:59 PM IST. No extensions will be given. If you are late, you are late. You have a full 2 months to participate in the contest and therefore the excuse that you did not have time will not be entertained.
  8. All entries are to be sent to me and me only.
  9. Other CID characters can be used, but Abhijeet must be the centre of attention.
  10. The point of the contest is to have fun, so go out there and make your own crossover and have as much fun with it as you can!

Don't like the above contest? No problemo! We've got another great contest just for you!

On the same track as above, you are now tasked with launching a new TV show. You're the Creative Director, the Casting Director, the Writer, the Director, that is everything but the Producer.

In teams of writer and graphicer or separately you need to finalize the following things:
  • The basic plot of the show - This doesn't have to be long. Even a few lines is enough as long as we get the basic gist of the show, but don't exceed 2 pages.
  • The cast - Aditya sir is a must in the cast and you cannot cast any other current CID actor. Apart from that you decide who you want to cast in the main roles (that is those roles that appear throughout the show) and you also decide which role Aditya sir will fit in.
  • The characters - After deciding the plot and the cast, give a brief character description. A maximum of 7 lines per character.
  • The number of episodes - Your show must be a finite series! Apart from that you can decide how long you want to make it or how short you want to make it.
  • The promo - You can show this through graphics, a VM, or through writing, but basically you need to define what the first promo of the show will be to hook the audiences!

  1. Graphicers are welcome to ask other graphicers for help if they wish to show a story through graphics only. However, at least 60% of graphics must be your own.
  2. Writers can ask outside graphicers for help, but at least 30% of the graphics must be made by someone who visits the CID forum.
  3. VMs must not exceed 2 minutes in length. They can be made using a mixture of text, graphics, videos, etc.
  4. Multiple entries are welcome.
  5. Final submission date is July 10th, 11:59 PM IST. No extensions will be given. If you are late, you are late. You have a full 2 months to participate in the contest and therefore the excuse that you did not have time will not be entertained.
  6. All entries are to be sent to me and me only.
  7. The point of the contest is to have fun, so go out there and have as much fun with it as you can!

For first one,
Should the show/ track be Indian show?
When you say current, you mean 2 weeks time frame/ 4 weeks?

For second one,
I assume its not a cross over? Correct? I am slightly confused if Abhijeet is protagonist here or Aditya Sir 😕

For 1 good point. It's Indian. I mean current as in airing right now. Like a track that is already going on or that has just started. Or a track that begins up until July 10th.

Nope not a crossover for the second one. That is Aditya sir. As in a new role and character for Aditya sir.

@Bold , Case means ? If it's a non investigative show , then should we create something with a shows character ? Like TMKOC & CID crossover way ? Or just use the current track and involve Abhi in it ?

@Underline , What about SVS Take 2 ? It's basically a TV show but just coming on different platform . So is it allowed ?

1. Should we have to right entire show episode by episode or just a short one ?

2. Genere ? Are current existing actors allowed ? Or we have to create new ?

I'm really happy to know about the contest... Unfortunately I don't watch any other serial other than CID... Shreya di, can you give me an example about any show to make a crossover? So that I will get a better idea and try something for the first one? I didn't even watch TMKOC crossover...
Again for the first one...
Can it be a crossover with another crime show like CP?
Can it be a show of any Indian language or strictly a Hindi TV show?
Can it be a mythological show? 😆 Anyway, it would be way too fictitious...

Second one...
Is it compulsory to show graphics?
I got an idea regarding this but I don't know how far it will work...

Case as in whatever the track is. Like the missing chamach or whatever. 😆 Most daily shows have the main characters solve the problem which can be made into a "case" so to speak.

No. SVS not allowed. I wanted to do that as well that's why I put in a stipulation it's not allowed. 😆

No, no. Just write the plot. Like this show will be about 2 sisters who end up married to the same guy. Like even that's fine.

You can use any actors you want, current or retired. Just not the current CID actors.
