CID To Be Revamped After 18 Years!

The popular TV crime drama, which returned on our TV screens after over a month-long hiatus in June is looking at being more with the times and rooted in reality.

So that means now they will do something with the storyline other than changing cop's costumes & bureau! Thank God!

I want cid to get more realistic rather than these door breaks also!

I hope FW will think seriously this time & do something real good unlike past 4 years!

When Sony announced that the longest running show on Indian television, CID, will go off air starting April, fans were anything but amused. However, much to their delight, the crime drama soon returned.

But looks like the show hasn't been able to live up to expectations. For, Sony, which has been seeing an upswing in its ratings courtesy shows such as The Kapil Sharma Show, Beyhadh, Super Dancer among others, feels that it's time that the show be tweaked a little.

Says a source, "When the show resumed in June, three actors from the show, Hrishikesh Pandey, Tanya Abrol and Abhay Shukla -- who played the characters of Sachin, Jaywanti Shinde and Nikhil respectively -- were asked to leave. However, otherwise the show didn't see many changes. Now, the channel is considering toning down CID's drama quotient."

Adds the source, "Looking at the fact that the other crime dramas which are doing much better than CID have more real content, perhaps the channel might suggest the show be less fiction, more real."

Does that mean no more shattered doors and long pensive close up frames?

We will also have to wait and watch to see if the tweak is distinct or it's just another case of old wine in a new bottle. Whatever it may be, CID has a loyal fan base.

I am happy for Sony and the changes it is bringing to its content. I hope CID changes for good, their own good actually.

When it will get revamped?

I'm bit confused because the show is not airing regularly...

So will it go off air like last time and come back? Or else further it will be on air and we can expect for good episodes?

Revamp in sense, will there be any change in cast?

Hope so!

The contents on sony is really good now. TKSS, Super dancer & recently Beyhadh. These r gaining eyeballs. CID is only lagging behind now. I hope that FW bring some good changes...not in the casts but in presenting the casts & storyline.

I want CID to go off air for at least 2 month and come back after revamping.

Otherwise they will have to work on revamping but with the tension of shooting episodes to let them air on channel. This thing will disturb them.

So, it's better to take a break & come back with a bang!
