Try to open it with windows movie maker reshma, if it opens then export it in the form of .WMV; as far as i know .msdvd is the extension for the project, temporary one and no player will play it.

.msdvd files can be uploaded. And i have no such idea about Windows DVD maker...
Windows movie maker is not present in Windows7...you have to install it separately...I also install Windows Live Movie Maker.
