I was watching a few old episodes and something really struck to me. The amount of technical terms used: identity kit, DNA profile, interrogation, get 2 witnesses before breaking the door, etc. All these things slowly seem to have disappeared to a point where they aren't used at all anymore. It's a small point, but magnified when you think about the effect it would have on the show.

Oh yes, those days they used 'identikits' having various foreheads, noses, mouths and chins. It was a more realistic way of finding a culprit than a perfect sketch made by the artist as described by the witness.

^ Not only that they used real terms like "modus operandi", "DNA profile", etc.

In fact one of the episodes led to the movie Kaal now that I'm watching it. It was that panther episode where the forest officer went mental and started killing people. They just changed the story a bit, but the basic idea was the same.
