as far as i can say.. among the recent ones..i mean the last 2-3 years.. i can i say

Khoon Ki Holi is my pick as well when it comes to an episode that is as whole as possible. It was probably the most properly thought-out and well-constructed episode in the recent past that built up suspense with almost clinical precision at appropriate moments. I'd also choose AC-VIII as a standalone episode for its dramatic impact alone.

I recall at least three recent episodes that had genuinely good investigation - Bank Locker Ka Rahasya, Pyaar Ka Khooni Tohfa and Room No. 303. Abhijeet Ka Intequaam is the last episode that I really liked, though admittedly I've missed most episodes from January to March.
