As the days draw closer... A further insight

Usually Pierre Loraine was a calm man ... almost saintly for a smart person... But today he seemed downtrodden and his usually sparkling green eyes were dull with fatigue..But this did not go unnoticed. Among the sprawling sands of the Maui beach , a dark handsome woman lay tanning . For all her delicate features and her graceful ways , nobody would believe she was an assasin on a mission. But Pierre Loraine had made that mistake.

Gerald sighed as the heat soared on mercilessly.To be on an exotic vacation on an investigation was a treat usually.Well this time it was different. This was his first with the CID intl. team after his years of experience in the police force. But suddenly , his throat parched . It ached like somebody lunged for it. It must be the drink at the bar, he thought. But any man would have taken a free drink from an old acquaintance... especially when it was an woman.He fumbled a few unsteady steps into the room and collapsed, locking the door just in time.
