Fireworks Productions' weekend show CID on Sony Entertainment Television has kept the audience glued for a record number of years now. And the enthusiasm amongst the audience to watch the show seems to be on the rise with every passing week.

Well, we are here to give some good news to the loyal fans of CID. The bi-weekly show which is being aired at the 10 pm slot on Friday and Saturday will now be turning into a tri-weekly. It will be aired every Friday to Sunday from the month of June 2012.

A source said, "The date for this change has not been fixed yet. However, it is confirmed that CID will be aired tri-weekly from June."

We sent a text to Sneha Rajani, Business Head, Sony Entertainment Television, for a confirmation but she did not revert.

However, when Tellychakkar.com contacted Shivaji Satam aka ACP Pradhyuman, he confirmed this piece of news stating, "Yes, it is true that we will be going tri-weekly sometime post IPL."

We are sure CID fans are jumping with joy with this piece of information. And hold on folks. We have something more to share. With the show going tri-weekly, there will be few additions in the investigative team and the first name to get finalized is Janvi Chheda. She will play the role of a CID officer and will join the core team soon.

When contacted, Janvi said, "Well, talks are in process but nothing is finalized as of now."

They think CID fans are jumping with joy .. maybe some are but those who really care for the show aren't :(

Now we'll never ever see trio together .. already biweekly has distributed duo presence .. now we'll have one of them leading each episode.

The writers don't have story to carry of 2 episodes a week properly and now 3 means have a daily dose of maut ka aashirwaad.

Worst .. I remember Dinesh sir said when we met them that they work round the clock 7 days a week for 2 episodes each week .. and now 3 episodes is going to take a toll on them. We'll see tires and exhausted faces .. and duo more irritated...

Worried for ACP sir and Narendra sir .. hope it won't take a toll on their health ..

And new people ?? Great .. poori fauj banwaalo :( ..

I'm feeling reallt bad .. I'm scared to see CID go the daily aahat way.

And this comes just when the quality of the show was starting to improve slightly. It's 2010 all over again. Seriously, are the execs out of their minds? What's next, airing 2 new episodes daily with a 100-member regiment of actors? The stories and team distribution had been teetering on the edge of disaster already, and looks like some people are hell-bent on striking the finishing nails. What's up with this obsession about quantity over quality? Are the cast and crew supposed to be human beings or machines? I don't know how the higher-ups could've given in to this; don't they realize that they're biting off more than they can chew? I'm very disappointed and worried about the future of our show. They're making it happen themselves.

Ufff...I am back to this world.

Wow...what a news. How did our actors even agree to it? How does it affect them after all???? They only have to show their faces a couple of times in the episode and vanish...there is going to be another battalion who will run the show isn't it?

Whatever it is...one thing is for sure - I CANNOT watch CID on Sunday nights...not before a tiring week starting Monday. All these years I managed because CID was shown before a holiday. I will have to skip the Sunday episode and watch it online based on the rating thread and the WU. For me it's still going to be a bi-weekly. Maybe the actors are super-humans...I am not.

CID is a single-episodic serial...we cannot have 3 different stories a week. It's going to be a big mess and on top of it, it will lead to an overdose. It will soon go the daily-Aahat way. If they have some sense left, they can try and make 1 single story every week in detail with lots of twists and turns and casual scenes too...but I doubt it. We'll have NK and NC working overtime with silly khoon and laash stories and sweepers writing dialogues to achieve targets.

I don't know .. I'm depressed at this news ..
We'll not see trio in one frame .. a huge battaliom ..
Exhausted and tired faces ...
Worse stories ..
An exhausted ACP ..

Altogether I see a dark future for CID .. :'( ..

And WU ?? That's going to get tougher .. 12 episodes a month ..

They already haven't taken CID into a deep pit once it turned biweekly .. I'm scared for what's coming up.

Look...they are getting TRPs...if you look at it from a business perspective it's been doing better than ever before.

So no one cares about the quality. They will bother if and when TRPs go down. Looks like that's not gonna happen...the business is expanding and new people are going to be recruited. The old ones will be there...just to show their faces once in a blue moon and together for some 'special' episodes and that's it.

There's something called Saturation point...CID will soon reach that stage if they pump in 12 episodes a month...eventually people will get bored of it. Then the TRPs will decline...then they'll decide what to do.

Never mind...I am happy with what they have given me for 14 years. I feel CID as we knew it is over...this is a new serial...everything has to end some day. Even RS Ramayan did...even B R Mahabharat did...even Byomkesh Bakshi did...but don't I remember them all even now? Same with CID. (Someone had asked me this when I was the CIDian of the week)

Yeah...we need more coolbies...I request people to volunteer to keep this forum going.
