Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Sept 8, 2025 Episode Discussion Thread
Just watched it online. Lagta hai jab main miss karta hoon, case accha hi hota hai. 😆 Had flaws but overall I liked the case. Some observations -
* The story was fairly good and engaging, despite the motive being a common one (didn't buy their reason for killing Vipul, though. That should've been much stronger) and there were pretty much a lot of clues scattered about so that the identity of the culprit wasn't so easily identifiable. Acceptable investigation and a fair amount of red herrings too, though the history book in Vipul's house and stuff was a bit of an overkill. I just wish the execution in the second half (which felt a bit disconnected from the first one) had been a bit better; that'd have enhanced the overall effect IMO. But I liked the pacing and Nandu sir's direction for most of the part. Editing felt a bit jarring in parts and the title wasn't fully justified either.
* We only had the trio/duo together in a handful of scenes without any notable interaction, but once again I loved their individual performances. 👏 ⭐️ ACP sir was especially the star of the episode for me and I loved how he led the team through the investigation, never unnecessarily shouting or overreacting but handling each suspect just as they deserved. 😃 The way he observes Sheela's movements and dismisses the possibility of her being the killer was pretty coolly shown. Daya sir and Abhijeet had lesser screen time but nevertheless ruled in their scenes, especially Abhi sir was fantastic during the initial phase of the crime scene investigation; liked his and Purvi's little dialogue about their fondness of kids, and ACP sir's reaction to that. 😆
Fredericks was in great form during the case today as well, without any antics or melodrama; this is what I look forward too. Vivek had comparatively lesser screen time, but he definitely supported the seniors to a sizeable extent even during that. I liked the forensic scenes today; crisp and apt with proper interaction between Dr. Salunkhe and the team. His little demo scene with Vivek felt... a bit funny, to be honest. Couldn't suppress a grin when they showed it complete with cheesy sound effects and all. 😆 It's just sorta friendly leg-pulling though, so I didn't mind it. Purvi did a pretty cool job today in her scenes, though I wish she had more dialogues. 👍🏼 I liked how Sachin and Kajal gently interacted with Vishesh's daughter. Speaking of that, she and the lady playing Sheela were good as well. Though it's a bit weird how the girl who calls CID just watches on calmly as the gruesome murder takes place! 😕 For a moment, I thought she was an accomplice.
Not really a great one but it certainly does seem like further testament to support the relative improvement in quality of contemporary stories, IMO.

It was one of the friends of Ajay's daughter.
The title did have some connection to the episode at last, but it should've been much stronger. 😆
