The Case of the Mysterious Shadow

A blind lady comes to the bureau telling Prad, Daya, Fredricks, and Abhijeet that someone at her dorm in Asha Jyoti Blind Home comes at night silently trying to search for something. She (her name is Sheetal) says that she has nothing valuable at home, but someone still comes to her room every 2 -3 days trying to look for something. Prad,Abhi and Daya dismiss this as just an illusion, but Sheetal says that it is true. Prad says that they will surely investigate and try to prevent any crime from happening.
Asha Jyoti Blind Home: Prad, Abhi, and Daya arrive there and talk to Dr. Murthy. They tell him that they have come here because a girl named Sheetal had come to the Bureau claiming that a person always comes to her room at night. Dr. Murthy knows this and says that Sheetal always says this to everyone. He also says that Sheetal always imagines things.
Bureau: They tell Sheetal that they went to the home and found nothing. Sheetal says that someone always comes to Bed #17 to find something. Prad and team check her hearing and they find that she has an incredible hearing. She can hear even the quitest bits. Therefore, Prad plans to disguise himself and go to the blind home to find out what really is happening there.
Lab: Prad asks Niyati to give him something to make him blind temporarily. She gives him a liquid, which will not dilate his pupils.
Blind Home: Prad goes there to get his eyes checked and the doctor there, Dr. Leena Kamath tells the other doctor that he is blind as a bat. Prad asks them to let him stay at the blind home. The doctors agree and shift him to a ward. When Prad follows the bellboy (with assistance), Dr. Murthy becomes suspicious since he thinks that the blind man resembles Prad. Therefore, he goes over to prad's room and throws a tumbler at him. Fortunately, Prad did not lean down and Dr. Leena comes to the room to assist Prad. Therefore, Dr. Murthy's test was unsuccessful.

At night: Prad checks to see if anyone is in Sheetal's room. He sees that no one is there. He goes to his room and tells Abhi, Daya, and Fred, who are in the van, that Sheetal has a button in which she can alert them if the intruder is there or not. 2 days go by, but no sign of the intruder.

4th day: Sheetal signals and Prad receives it. He goes over to her room and sees that there is actually someone there in the room. He tells the intruder to STOP, but the intruder runs away. Prad shoots, but he/she get away.

Home: Dr. Leena tells the team that there used to be a girl named Tara* who stayed in Bed 17 for just three days, but left. Prad tells Abhi/Daya to go and find out about Tara's history.

Bureau: Daya brings in the info about Tara that she used to work at a jewelery shop, where 2 crores were stolen. Just after they were stolen, she stopped coming to work because she became blind then. Prad says that Tara was involved in the robbery because they must have used a chemical to break open the lock safe and thus that chemical must have gone into her eyes.

Lab: Niyati says that this chemical is very toxic and dangerous. She tests it on a wood. Prad says that Tara must have had the jewels (2 crore wirth) with her at the Blind Home and thus the intruder must have came to search for them.

Home: they question people about Tara's history and etc. They say that she died and wanted to commit suicide. She had even told the people that if they helped her kill herself, she would give them 10 Lakhs. Prad says that someone in the blind home helped her die.

Prad and Team come to find out that a blind man named Murali helped Tara kill herself. They question about Murali's whereabouts, but Leena tells them that he checked out and his relative Aravind took him home.

Murali's home: Prad and team find that he is dead. Daya checks that the phone is still there open and presses the redial button to find the numbers : 14739.

• prad and team wonder the different possibilities that this number could be. Suddenly when they are at the blind home, he thinks that the numbers could represent the name of the killer. Therefore, he checks the phone and draws dots, as such:

o 1 2 o 3

o 4 5 6

o 7 8 o 9

Thus, they ask a blind woman what three dots mean, she says L and the two dots mean K. Prad says Dr. Leena Khamath is the murderer.
• They go over to Leena's bureau and find that she has newspaper clippings about the stolen 2 crore jewels. Leena comes over and quickly hides in the bathroom and flushes down the jewels. She laughs wildly and tells them that they can't do anything to her. Prad says that they will cut off the sewage line and that she is underarrest because they have proof against her (murali writing her name) Leena is scared.

* Fictional name - I have forgotten the name. 😳
