I will work out something about the improvement score...sochne do...have to go back to statistical methods. Kuch yaad nahin aa raha hai.

Just leave this for now and choose an episode which you feel you can really improve.

I feel the scoring for inprovement should be like this

Please let me know if you are all ok with it or you feel it's not fair.

Original	Remake	Marks
1	2	5
1	3	6
1	4	8
1	5	10

2	3	5
2	4	7
2	5	9

3	4	6
3	5	9

4	5	9

The scores for changing 3 to 5 and 4 to 5 are both 9. But someone who makes a 1 rated episode into a 5 should get a perfect 10.

This is the basic idea...I have not finalised it.

If the remake is not as good as the original, the person gets 4.

Even I thought so...,but then it's not fair...someone who is bold enough to choose a 4 rated episode and make it a 5 has to get some credit. What do you suggest? Make it 8?

Hmmm...how about this?

This is the 'improvement' score.

There is another 10 marks for the overall story, which has to be like this.

2 marks - clarity and presentation

2 marks - plot

2 marks - characterisation

2 marks - suspense and thrill

2 marks - overall feel-good factor.

Each person has to rate it like this to avoid unfair/random number ratings. You have to put individual marks for each of these aspects(one decimal allowed, like 1.1, 1.2 etc), then the overall sum will be rounded up to nearest 0.5.

Maybe complicated, isn't it but I think it has to be done to ensure fair scoring.

The total score will be sum of these 2 scores.

Each person has to give the following ratings for each story.

clarity

plot

characterisation

suspense and thrill

overall feel-good factor.

...out of 2 (can have one decimal)

The score for original episode out of 5 as per Zerry's scale

The score for the remake as per Zerry's scale.

I will input all this into an excel sheet and the score will be calculated.

I am trying to ensure a fair scoring. The final score will not be given by the participants. The participants give score to various aspects and the final score which you give a story will be calculated by an Excel sheet.

Isn't it getting too complicated ??? The writers will be anonymous ... and I guess everyone here is frank enough ... let everyone judge every story ... and simply rank it (like we give ranks to episode) comparing to the old one on a scale of 5 and PM you !!!

Also choosing 2 similar rather same plots isn't a problem ... let them ... we won't get into catfights and all anyways ... people we'll seperately judge them !!! Comparison is to be made only with the original epi !!
