STORY - 1

A kid, wearing a bright yellow t-shirt and matching red shorts, gets down the car with a lady and a man. He is pointing towards an ice cream stall. Parents try to talk him out but the kid doesnot listen. Finally, the father buys him an ice - cream. This spreads a smile of joy on the child's face, while the parents are happy just to see their child smile.

Aditi saw this scene from inside the Jailor's room across the road. She had been summoned to see the Jailor, who was yet to come and so Aditi was looking out of the door. The kid made her remember her own family which had been a similar happy one not more than an year back. Her husband - Vinod, son - Prabhat and daughters - Ananya and Nisha. But the past one year had changed everything. Here she was in Jail and had no idea where her children were.

As Aditi was thinking this, the Jailor arrived.

Jailor - "do you know why I have called you here?"

Aditi stood silent. She had been a quiet person since ever but her past one year in Jail had made her extremely quiet. She hardly ever spoke. People told her things and she just kept doing them. If she could, she would sit hours staring out of the walls of the jail or else just sit in her lock - up.

Jailor - "The judge has given the wordict to your case."

Jailor Kumar, had been so, since past 20 years. In these years, he saw all kinds of criminals. A very few were the ones who considered themselves lost to fate. Aditi was one of them. She never spoke anything to save herself. She never even told her side of the story.

An year earlier, the Police was informed that a house in Bandra was burning, in the middle of the night. The neighbours couldnot get an idea till the house was almost entirely burnt. Police came to find two dead bodies inside - burnt completely. One of them was Vinod's and other was still not identified. Aditi hadnot been home then. She returned two days later to find her entire family shattered. During investigation, Police found that Aditi and Vinod werenot on good terms. He often used to abuse her and beat her. She always had scars on her body. He would drink and come home late only to misbehave with his wife. At times, he even burnt her. Some marks were there which had still not healed. The neighbours said that the marriage had only been able to survive for Aditi never spoke a word.

Aditi told the Police where she had been to but when the Police investigated, there was no records of Aditi at the place she said she was at. This set Police into being suspecious about her. The Police also found some blood stains in the not completely burnt part of the house and they matched with Aditi's. This was sufficient to say that Aditi was present in the house when it was set on fire and so Aditi was arrested.

Apparently, when the fire started, the children had escaped and still could not be located anywhere. For the first few weeks, Aditi seemed restless. She asked about her children's whereabouts often. But on being rudely told by an inspector that why does she want to know about the children that she tried to kill, Aditi stopped asking. She had complaint and since then anyone hardly heard her speak. It was like she had accepted what was coming her way.

However, the Jailor's experience with criminals told her that there was something else about Aditi. She certainly couldnot be a criminal and was framed but after a moment's thought, he never gave it a second - for it would mean his hard work and also there were other 200 people in the lock up to look after, few more might be the victims of time and circumstance! But certainly the Jailor had thought that if he could, he will help her. This was the only reason, the Jailor was hesistant to tell Aditi that she had been sentenced to death. It was only a matter of 10 days of life left with her. But being with criminals for 20 years, hardens you enough.

Jailor - "you have been sentenced to death. It will take place next week Thursday." (It was Wednesday today)

Aditi looked at him. Her face was still blank. A tear left the heart but never escaped the eye. It remained half formed there. Aditi didnot care about this either. She bowed her head down again. The Jailor had other matters to attend to and so two lady constables held her by hand and took her to her lock up. As Aditi had always been gentle in approach, she was held firmly. After a few steps, she stopped and came back to the Jailor. Jailor looked up.

Jailor - "Yes?"

Aditi - "I think we are granted a last wish before being hanged. Do I have mine?"

The Jailor was indeed shocked. He had forgotten this. Now he had no idea what a girl like Aditi could ask but whenever a criminal was granted this wish, it had a high potential to back fire. Whatever it may be, Aditi was also a criminal in front of law.

Jailor - "oh.. y..yes.. ofcourse. Tell me. If there something you want to see or eat or wear or have?"

Aditi - "I want to meet someone."

Jailor - "who?"

Aditi - "first promise that you are going to make that person meet me at the earliest, no matter what."

Jailor - "I will definitely try my best. I cant force someone. But who?"

Aditi - "ACP Pradyuman."

The name echoed in the room.

In the CID bureau,

Abhi had arrived early than the usual time. He had some records to enter in the database. He entered to find a sad and gloomy Freddie standing all by himself besides the window. Abhi halted seeing Freddie and called him. But Freddie gave no response.

Then Daya entered. He had come along Abhi to help and was parking the car. He saw Abhi standing near Freddie.

Daya - "What's the matter? And what is Freddie doing here so early?"

Daya walks to Abhi as he says this.

Abhi - "I called him many times but he isnot replying."

Daya called Freddie but no reply. Then Daya went and shook Freddie.. Freddie got a little scared.

Freddie – "Whatwhere…"

Daya – "What is the matter Freddie? Where are you so lost?"

Abhi – "Everything alright with Bhabhiji?"

Freddie – "she is not here. She has gone to her mother's place."

Abhi – "Oh.. ho.. that is why you are so upset and missing her."

Abhi and Daya knew this was the normal Freddie and they started laughing. Freddie got angry with them. Daya and Abhi went to the computer to do the work. They both opened the database and started entering records but the computer said that these records are already updated.

Abhi – "Who updated these?"

Daya – "This update came only yesterday late evening."

Abhi – "That is why I asked you to come early today."

Freddie silently walked to them.

Freddie – "I did this."

Both of them were surprised.

Abhi – "But when?"

Freddie – "I drove my wife to the station and then couldn't go home. I was feeling lonely, so I came here."

Daya – "You were here the entire night?"

Freddie nodded…

Daya and Abhi were now laughing again.. and then Viveka and Tasha enter.

Vivek sees an upset Freddie, the first thing. He walks over to Freddie and was asking what is the matter, when ACP arrives.

ACP – "What is the matter and why are you all crowding the window?"

Everyone moved aside except Freddie, who was still upset.

ACP – "what is wrong with Freddie?"

Abhi told ACP… and before ACP could say anything, Jailor Kumar had come. ACP went closer to Freddie and said to him slowly.

ACP – "We will look into your matter later."

All of them were there with Jailor Kumar.

Jailor – "Good Morning sir. You remember me?"

ACP – "Ofcourse Kumar. I do. But what brings you here early this morning?"

Jailor told them the entire case history of Aditi, the wordict and also her last wish. Everyone was shocked.

ACP – "But why does she want to meet me? What can I do?"

Jailor – "probably she wants your help."

Abhi – "Jailor sir you said that she hasnot ever given any plea. No statement."

ACP – "exactly! And also the wordict has been given."

Daya – "But sir we have dealt with such cases before…"

Abhi – "Daya I don't think its good to give someone false hope."

Jailor – "Its better she has a false hope than having no hope at all.."

Tasha – "we should try once sir."

ACP had been listening to all this and thinking. After giving enough thought, he had made his mind.

ACP – "Abhijeet, you go with Tasha and atleast listen what Aditi has to say. I will catch you both in a while."

The Jailor insists them to meet Aditi in the interrogation room for it wouldnot be a good thing to spread. When Aditi arrived into the interrogation room, she looked all around

Aditi - "Where is ACP sir?"

Jailor - "He isnot here now. He sent his officers - Senior Inspector Abhijeet and Inspector Tasha."

Aditi - "but.."

Tasha - "Dont worry Aditi. We are here to help you and I promise that we will try our best."

Jailor left the three and Aditi began her story.

Megha had always been a glamour loving person. She dreamt of riches though she belonged to the middle class. She was pretty though. One day, Vinod - who was a rich owner of a hotel, saw her and fell in love with her beauty. He was some years elder to her but that didnot bother anyone of them. When Megha knew that he was a crorepati, she instantly said yes to the marriage proposal without even seeing him. The marriage kept good for a few months but then Megha got bored. Only money or good looks is not enough for a successful marriage. Once in the big pool, Megha sighted the even bigger fishes. But then Megha got pregnant and everyone thought that things will get fine between the couple. It didnot happen though. Megha met Rahul - who was a manager in Vinod's hotel. Rahul wasnot rich enough but charming, adventurous and young - a man Megha wished for at the moment. After giving birth to Ananya, Megha got into a relationship with Rahul and one day Vinod caught his wife cheating on him. The same night Megha eloped with Rahul. She took all she could lay hands on - jewellery, cash, cards, etc.

Vinod was very angry with this. He got into drinking and poor Ananya was left alone. Vinod's mother decided to find a new bride for her son. She had been a very rude person in speech and left no chance telling how Megha ruined her son's life. Ashamed and embarrassed, Megha's parents married their younger daughter - Aditi to Vinod.

Aditi reminded Vinod of Megha and so he couldnot ever lead a normal life with her. His drinking got him careless. As a result he was in debts till neck. His hotel got sold in two years and all the means of survival for them was Aditi's job. Aditi was a doctor in a Government hospital. When the conditions got worse enough for them to even sell their big mansion and shift to a rented two bedroom flat, did Vinod see some light. 5 years had past since Megha was gone. He had three children and a wife to feed. He got a job as a manager into a restaurant. It had been now 10 years since Aditi's marriage and off late now, Vinod had started being nice to her. He would still drink often now but he wasnot rude to her. Vinod might have been a abad husband but to his children, he had been very caring and loving. Aditi honestly, had dedicated her life to the children. She never spoke a word because that would only hurt. Vinod had open wounds too - which werent seen!

Aditi also told them for a month or two, Vinod was meeting someone. Vinod had started being very tensed. He didnot drink that often but spent the entire money and never told where.

Abhi - "okie.. what exactly do you want from us?"

Aditi was silent again. She had spoken alot today. This silence was however, as she searched words how to put them together and ask.

Abhi - "The honest thing is your silence has been very prolonged and unfortunately, silence was taken as acceptance of crime. Now the sentence is out, there is very little we can do for you. But yes we will try. So tell us what you want?"

Aditi knew this. But honestly, her sentence was not the thing bothering her. She stared blankly at Abhi.

Tasha also knew that Abhi had spoken the truth but it sounded a little rude.

Tasha – "Aditi, no matter what, we will try to help you. Tell us."

Aditi had like not even heard what Tasha said… and she kept staring Abhi.

Aditi – "Officer, even in the worst of times, you always have a house and home to return to. Someone awaits you. Where do I return to? To a burnt house or the home (practically family) that I am supposed to have burnt down. This is the very Police that held me for killing my husband and trying to burn my kids, should I tell them that I am innocent? Its all over for me, it doesnot matter if I am here or out."

Abhi got really touched with this. He knew the pain of losing someone without their own fault. Aditi had a similar pain. He could now see why the Jailor believed her innocence and somewhere, Abhi started believing it too!

ACP – "then what do you want of us?"

ACP stood at the door of the interrogation room along with the Jailor. Apparently he had heard everything.

Aditi – "I had hoped that wherever my children are, one day, they will come to me. But since now, my days have been numbered, I donot ask you to extend the number but just bring my children to me. I want to meet them. They are all I am left with. Please."

Back in the bureau,

Abhi – "sir I think Aditi was telling the truth."

ACP – "So?"

Tasha – "we must try to help her…"

ACP – "How exactly do you plan that? Whatever may be the reason, she has been held guilty for an year without any protest. The evidences are all against her."

Abhi – "It's not the first time we are dealing with such a case."

ACP – "What do you say Daya?"

Daya – "I think sir we can always try."

ACP – "hmm.. Vivek and Freddie, go and get me the inspector who investigated this case an year back. Get all reports and evidences too. We will go to Aditi's burnt house."

After sometime,

Vivek and Freddie got all evidence and files.

The files stated whatever the Jailor had already told the CID. In the evidences, ACP finds a sample of dry blood collected from the burnt house. He sends it for investigation. Meanwhile, he asks to see Aditi again.

ACP – "Aditi, this is your one last chance. So you better not lie."

Aditi nodded.

ACP – "where were you when the incident took place?"

Aditi – "My mother had called from Bhopal two days back. She said that my father was ill and she cannot manage it all alone. I went there. When I reached there, father was fine except for the general old age but my mother insisted that I stayed for atleast a week. I found this very odd. I stayed there for 5 days, but after that I started to worry about my children and so I just came back to Mumbai to find all burnt. Later however she denied that I went there. The Police said that my children werenot inside the burnt house. Did you find them?"

ACP – "Don't worry. We will. But for now, Daya and Abhijeet, go to Bhopal and find out."

Daya and Abhijeet nodded.

ACP, Tasha, Vivek and Fredricks were in the burnt house. Rightfully, Vinod's mother owned it but she never came to see it. And so, the house was in the same condition as it was when burnt. Everyone spread inside. Dr. Tarika was also there and they all started looking for evidences.

Everything had burnt. The furniture, papers, walls, floor, ceiling – everything. Everyone is spraying around for fingerprints or looking for something semi burnt. Dr. Tarika was in the kitchen when she noticed something. Two glasses had been kept on the slab. She looked closely and found one of them had a lip imprint.

Dr. Tarika – "ACP sir… see what I found."

ACP – "What is it?"

Dr. Tarika – "looks like someone was drinking to this fire before it occurred. And it happens that one of them is a girl."

ACP – "can you find out who she is?"

Dr. Tarika – "we can try sir."

Freddie – "If Abhijeet sir would have been here, he would have been very glad.."

ACP – "Freddie"

Just then Dr. Tarika gets a call. It was from Dr. Salunke. Dr. Tarika looked amazed listening to what he had to say and she was really surprised and shocked.

ACP – "what is the news?"

Dr. Tarika – "the blood sample that was in the evidence box.."

Vivek – "Isnt it Aditi's?"

Dr. Tarika – "It is. But it certainly did not fall when she was in the house."

Tasha – "How can you tell that?"

Dr. Tarika – "Apparently, when anyone donates blood, or a sample is taken, it is stored in particular conditions to prevent it from clotting. Earlier we used to mix some chemicals into it. Aditi's blood is positive for those chemicals."

In the Jail… Tasha and Vivek have come to talk to Aditi.

Tasha – "we know you are innocent. It will take till Monday to get your case to the Judge. Don't worry, you wont be punished."

Aditi – "My children?"

Tasha – "we are finding them."

Vivek – "Aditi ji, by any chance did you donate blood or give blood sample a few days before that incident occurred?"

Aditi tried to remember hard.

Aditi – "I do donate blood often. I must have donated two or three weeks before I went to Bhopal."

Meanwhile,

In Bhopal… Abhi and Daya meet Aditi's parents.

Aditi's father is stern and rude for his daughter while mother is crying.

Daya – "I am sorry, we had to give you the news and you need to help us to help your daughter."

Father – "I have NO daughter."

Mother – "Don't say so… had we been brave…"

Father – "Keep quite.."

Abhi and Daya sensed something wrong…

Abhi – "Is there something, you might want to tell us?"

Father – "I have no business to either of them. You are definitely at the wrong house."

Daya – "What a father you are? Your daughter is dieing and yet she is worrying about her children and here you arenot bothered at all."

Mother started crying even more loudly. Abhi decided to tackle her.

Abhi – "Aunty… is there something you know?"

And she nodded… Abhi and Daya exchanged looks.

In the forensic lab…

ACP is there looking at the evidences with others. Tasha holds a torn piece of cloth.

Tasha – "this must be of the other man who died."

Vivek – "How can you say so?"

Tasha – "read this. It says that this was found clenched tightly in Vinod's fists. Also there is another cloth that was on Vinod's body. That is supposed to be a part of what he wore."

ACP was there with Salunke.

ACP – "I still don't understand this. Wife was away and husband murdered. It has to be Aditi's relatives or children."

Dr. Salunke – "But boss, Aditi never told anyone."

ACP – "the neighbours heard Salunke. They could have said. And the children. Maybe they did this and escaped."

Dr. Salunke – "to where?"

ACP – "Are you going to ask all questions? Better answer some."

Dr. Tarika was till now working on something and she comes.

Dr. Tarika – "May I answer?"

Everyone turned to her and paid attention.

Dr. Tarika – "It looks like there were 3 people in Vinod's house other than Vinod. The lady who drunk from that glass and it appears that she got sugar problem. I found traces of sugar free in her glass. The other person was who died. And the third person, from who's shirt the cloth is torn. Vinod's nail was broken when he was trying to hold the murderers and in the process along with the shirt, he caught his broken nail too which by chance had some skin."

Just then the door opens and enters – Abhijeet and Daya.

Abhi – "wow Dr. Tarika. Had I been a minute late, I would have missed this."

Dr. Salunke – "Here comes the audience."

ACP – "What is the news Abhijeet?"

Abhi – "sir we found them.. we need to hurry. They are leaving the country tonight."

CID reaches in front of an old and broken house. It was late at night. They go inside. It had been inhabited. Daya looks at Aditi's father.

Father – "But this is the address."

ACP – "Are you sure?"

Father – "I showed you the letter."

Abhi – "sir let us go in."

All of them go in. It had been entirely dirty and in a bad condition except for two chairs. There was furniture in the house but not used for like years. CID checks in all cupboards and places and they find lakhs of cash and lots of jewellery hidden in the house.

Abhi – "Must be all around thirty lakh."

ACP – "Who could have thought such a house to have all this?"

Just then Freddie calls from somewhere..

Freddie – "sir there is someone in there…"

Everyone go. There is a closed room. And there are coming sounds of struggles from inside. Daya breaks open the door without any delay. There are three kids tied by roped there. Two girls and One boy. Aditi's father recognised them to be his grandchildren. Just when they were helping the kids, Daya saw some lights from the window. He told everyone and asked them to hide.

Someone opened the door. It was a man and a lady.

Lady – "Why couldn't we do this in daytime?"

Man – "Do you want us to get robbed?"

Lady – "We can get late.."

Man – "If you stop talking and work, we wont!"

As they opened the lights, CID came out with guns and caught them. Both of them tried hard to struggle but no good. Finally Daya gives the man and Tasha the woman a slap each… and now switch to the bureau…

Father – "This is Megha and her boyfriend Rahul."

He started crying after that.

Megha – "I ran away with Rahul to escape that miserable life. Vinod was never a good husband. He could just give me money and that too when he wished to. Other times, he would just keep me locked up. Once he tried to raise his hand on me too."

Rahul – "That night we decided to elope. Megha gathered all money and jewellery she had and we ran away."

ACP – "but that did not last long enough.. did it?"

Rahul – "no. As life couldnot go just with money, it couldnot go even without it. After two years, we started getting poor and poorer. We started cheating people, robbing them. Minor ones. Nothing big. But this Megha.. she was never satisfied."

Megha – "Yes when I deserve the best and I had it.. how could I go for anything less?"

Abhi – "and so you turned upto your parents house. There you learnt about Aditi being married to Vinod."

Megha – "yes. Mother told me not to go there ever. For next three years, I barely lived. Rahul would steal at night and work in a glass factory at day time. I had to lead a very common life. We sold everything we had but hardly managed."

Rahul – "and then one day we met Vinod. He was angry to see us. Very angry. Later I contacted his collegue at the restaurant he worked – Ramu. Ramu asked Vinod about Megha and told us that he still liked her."

Daya – "And Megha took this as her golden chance."

Megha – "Yes. I started meeting Vinod. It wasnot frequent at first. Just once a month or maybe once in two. After first few meetings, he started getting me gifts. I filled him with hatred for Aditi and he started liking me. He even asked me if I would come with him. But I told him I had to think."

Rahul – "We knew it wouldnot last long. So I clicked Megha and Vinod together. And it happened like we thought. After two years, Vinod started getting scared. He did not want to cheat Aditi. He started avoiding Megha. At first, we let him do that but then he just disappeared. Changed his number and everything."

Megha – "After weeks of hardwork, we found him again. And this time we had the photos to show to Aditi. He got scared. At first he gave us money. But then he refused. He said he did not had it. Liar."

ACP – "And so you killed him?"

Rahul – "We went to his house and asked for money. When he refused, we burnt him there."

ACP – "How did you know that Aditi wasnot there?"

Abhi – "They planned it that way sir. They went to Aditi's mother and told her that they will kill Aditi. A worried mother called her daughter there. After Aditi left, Megha visited her mother again and said that she knows a Policeman and she will send him to find Aditi. He will find her and kill her. So when Police went to investigate, Aditi's parents lied that Aditi hadnot gone there."

ACP – "What about the dead man and Aditi's blood?"

Rahul – "I knew someone in Aditi's hospital. He agreed to give me Aditi's blood for 100 rs. And that man – he worked with me at the glass factory. He agreed to set the house on fire."

Megha – "The kids escaped the house. We had to catch them. Finally after a week of chase, we caught them. But they were no more than a burden. It took so much to feed them."

Daya – "So you wrote letters to your mother as Aditi saying that Vinod had no job and it was hard to manage and asked her to send you money at this address."

Rahul – "If it wasnot for you all.. by now, we would be in a flight to Delhi. We would open a new business there."

ACP – "To cheat others? Such a nice brain and I wish you both had used it in good cause. Now both of you will land in Jail."

Monday morning…

Aditi came out of the Jail. Tasha brought her. The outside sunlight seemed so bright that she couldnot meet the light first. But then she saw her children and parents waiting for her. It seemed impossible that she would see her family again but it was possible now. Aditi thanked the CID team that they solved this case within three days and finally after a long night, she had a dawn in her life!

STORY - 2

Scene 1
In the bureau, CID team members are one by one entering into the office.
Abhijeet: Kyun Fredy kaisa raha tumhara weekend hein?
Fredy: kya batau sir, biwi ne bahut kaam karvaya.
Daya: Fredy kabhi toh accha jawab diya karo, hamesha rote rahte ho.
Suddenly ACP enters
Fredy: Aare sir aap bhi shaddi karlo fir pata chalega
ACP: Aaa gaye tum sab log. Toh chalo
Abhijeet: par kahan sir? Koi naya case hain kya?
ACP: nai case toh nai, par aaj yerwada jail se phone aaya tha jailor ka. Koi kaidi hain wahan, use hum sab se milne ki aakhri khwaish hain.
Vivek: kamal hain sir mujrim humse darte hain fir yeh kis mujrim ko humhi se milne ki aahhri khwaish ho gayi?
Daya: chalk e dekhte hain kyun sir?
ACP: haan chalo

Scene 2
In the jail, jailor takes the team to the prisoner, a lady who is merely 22-23 years of age,
Jailor: sir yeh Aastha hain, iss ne aapne pati Vishwajeet ka khoon kiya hain aur aane wale shukravar ko isse phassi honewali hain.
Jailor leaves.
ACP: (in a soft voice) kya baat hain tum humse kyun milna chahati thi?
She is terrified to hear to his voice she starts shivering, Tasha goes near her
Tasha: Kya baat hain? Tum dar kyun rahi ho? (Aastha speaks nothing) humme yahan kyun bulaya hain tumne?
Vivek: Dekho koi baat hain toh bata do, kehte dil mein baat chupane se aur taklif deti hain.
Aastha starts weeping, Tasha tries to console her, after some time she speaks up.
Aastha: (murmurs) Maine unnhe nahin mara hain sir. Maine unnhe nahin mara
Daya: kya? Yeh tum kya keh rahi ho?
Aastha (gathers all the strength in her and speaks): Main unki patni hoon sir, thi (takes a pause) main unhe kaise maar sakti thi.
Abhijeet: Dekho tum saaf saaf baat karo, tum hum se kya chahati ho?
Aastha: ek garib ghar se thi main, Shaadi k baad Maa ki bhi Maut ho gayi, Koi nai tha unke alava mera iss mein, main unhe maarne ka soch bhi nai sakti thi.
Freddy: tumhare Khilaf ilzaam sabit ho chukka hain, ab yahan roke kya fayda hum koi judge toh nai k tumhari sazza badal de
Aastha (goes near ACP): sir maine aapki bahut tariff suni hain, bahut kisse padhe hain aapke, aap ne 24 ghanton mein cases solve kiye hain.
Daya: lekin tum humare pass ab kyun aayii ho? Pehle kyun nai aayii?
Aastha: mere lawyer ne mujse vada kiya tha sir woh mujhe chuda lega. Par kuch nai kar paya main ussi ki umeed pe thi sir. Badi himmat se aap logon ko bulaya hain sir please
ACP: Dekho humara farz quatil ko Aadalat tak pahunchana, Magar Aadalat toh khud tumhe saza de chuki hain?.
Aastha: Kya ek begunah ki taraf aap ka koi farz nahi?

STORY - 3

Characters:

Prisoner: Anjali (age about 25)

Husband: Vijay (age about 35)

Jailer of Central Jail

Scene 1- ACP's house

Jailer: Sir, Anjali, a girl is to be hanged next week. Her last wish is to meet you.

ACP (surprised): To meet me? Why?

Jailer: I don't know.

ACP (hesitating): Bring her in.

Anjali enters.

Anjali: Sir, I have come to seek help.

ACP: What kind of help?

Anjali (sobbing): I am to be hanged for a crime I did not commit.

ACP: Don't cry. Tell me what had happened.

Anjali: My husband, Vijay was missing for 3-4 months. I informed the police. They found a skeleton with a bullet on it. (she breaks down)

ACP: Then what happened?

Anjali: The police suspected me because I hated my husband. He was torturing me. They found a gun in my locker.

ACP: In your locker? How?

Anjali: I don't know, sir. The key was missing for many days. I was not bothering because there was nothing in it.

ACP: But how can I change the judgment after it has passed?

Scene4: Forensic Lab

Salunkhe: Boss, I have extracted the bullet. Let me match it with the bulletsof all cases.

Tarika: Sir, it matches with the bullet which was used to kill Vijay.

Daya: What? But the bullet is in the laboratory.

ACP: Match it with the gun with us.

Tarika: The bullets don't match.

Tasha: That means Anjali is innocent.

Fredicks returns.

Fredicks: The handwriting experts have told that the note has been written by Anjali.

Vivek: Haven't you used the diary?

ACP: What do you mean?

Vivek: Sir, the note could mean the entry of 12^th November on her diary. D is written. She was killed before she could write 'diary'.
Daya: Where is the diary?

Fredicks: In the beaurau.

Scene5: Beaurau

His mask is removed. He is Ramu, a terrorist.

Ramu: I married her by having false makeup on face to avoid being caught. But she was a hindrance to my terrorist activities. So I faked my own death.

Daya: But why did you kill her?

Ramu: My terrorist friend had written my real phone number on my diary. I had put white ink on it. The day she was returning, we met by chance & she overheard our conversation.

Abhijeet: And why did you kill the servant?

Ramu: He found out that I was Ramu, a terrorist.

ACP: Now you will definitely be hanged

Scene : A restaurant. Abhijeet and Daya having dinner at around 11PM.

Daya : Abhijeet, ice-cream order karoon?

Daya : Kya hua Abhijeet, aaj tumne kuch nahin khaaya, aur ice-cream bhi nahin khaa rahe ho...pehle toh do-teen scoop ice-cream aaram se khaa lete the. Tumhari tabeeyat to theek hai?

Abhijeet : Ab kya bataoon Daya...pehle toh Salunkhe post-mortem humare aane se pehle karte the aur sirf results bataate the. Ab toh poora post mortem humare saamne kar rahe hain. Woh pet aur dil baahar nikalkar humein dikha rahe hain. Forensic lab se baahar aane ke baad kuch khaaya nahin jaata.

Daya : Tum Tarika se baat kyon nahin karte iske baare mein?

Abhijeet : Arey use bohot mazaa aa raha hai...woh toh doctor hai na. Woh samajh nahin paa rahi hai ki hum jaise logon ko kitna problem ho sakta hai yeh sab dekhkar.

Abhijeet's phone rings. He looks at the caller-id and gives Daya a' mock irritated' look. Daya understands that it is ACP and gives a smile.

Abhijeet : Haan sir?

ACP : Abhijeet, tum aur Daya isi waqt bureau chale jaao.

Daya switches on the computer and starts searching for Maya's case file.

Daya : Abhijeet, file mil gaya. Is Maya ne apne pati ka khoon kiya tha ' paanch saal pehle. Aur use chaar mahine pehle phaansi ki saza di gayi thi. Use May 15 ko phaansi hone wali hai.

Abhijeet : Dekho aur kya details hai.

Daya : Usne apne pati Ranjeet ke hi gun se use shoot kiya tha. Ranjeet ke bhai ne police ko bulaya. Jis kamre mein laash thi, wahin se pistol mili. Aur usne khud kubool kiya ki maine apne pati ko shoot kiya.

Abhijeet : Yeh toh kaafi seedha case hai. Woh ACP sir se kyon milna chahthi hai?

Abhijeet calls ACP and gives the details.

ACP : Theek hai. Main kal subah 10 baje usse Central Jail mein milkar hi bureau aaonga.

Daya and Abhijeet: Good night sir.

ACP : Good night.

Scene : Bureau next day afternoon.

Freddie : Abhijeet sir, ACP sir abhi tak nahin aaye.

Abhijeet : Haan unhe central jail mein kisi se milna tha.

Daya : Lekin woh toh 10 baje milne wale the...ab toh 2 baj gaye. Ab tak toh unhe aa jaana chahiye tha.

ACP : Usne mujhe bataaya ki usne lawyer ke salaah par kubool kiya tha. Lawyer ne usse kaha tha ki aisa karne se woh saabit karega ki usne apne aap ko bachane ke liye goli maari thi. Lekin woh lawyer case haar gaya, aur Maya ko phaansi ki saza di gayi.

Daya : Lekin sir...saare saboot uske khilaaf hain. Gun ke oopar finger prints, room mein payi gayi goli aur shell....

Abhijeet : Iske alaava woh khud bhaag gayi thi ek aadmi ke saath. Aur do din ke baad pakdi gayi thi ek hotel mein.

ACP : Jiske saath woh bhaagi thi...wohi uska lawyer tha. Aur woh usse pyar karti thi.

Abhijeet : Wah! Pati ke hote hue uska kisi ke saath affair...kaun vishwas karega ki woh khooni nahi hai.

ACP : Abhijeet, kya kisi se pyar karna galat hai?

Abhijeet : Nahin sir....lekin pati ke hote hue.....

ACP : Uska pati usse pyar nahin karta tha. Bada businessman tha, Maya se 10 saal bada tha, aur uska bohot saari ladkiyon se saath affair bhi chal raha tha. Usne Maya ko sirf ek showpiece banaakar rakha tha.

Abhijeet : Aur agar goli par zeher laga ho, toh bhi maut ho sakti hai.

ACP : Ek kaam karo...us Ranjeet ke post mortem ka report dhoondkar nikalo. Dekho ki uski maut kis wajah se hui.

Abhijeet : Sir...ab yeh sab karke kya faayda? Officially toh uska case bandh kar diya gaya hai. Aur use phaansi bhi hone wali hai. Ab hum kya kar sakte hain?

Salunkhe : Nahin...main toh bas Tarika ko thoda advanced training de raha tha. Aap har din ek laash laayenge toh yeh jaldi seekh jaayegi.

Abhijeet gives Daya an 'anguished' expression.

ACP : Salunkhe...ek purana case hai. Ek ladki ne khoon kiya hai aur use phaansi hone wali hai May 15 ko.

ACP : Iska matlab......

Salunkhe : Iska matlab...Ranjeet ko kisi aur ne bhi goli maari hai ' theek uske ghaav ke oopar. Iski wajah se woh pehle wali goli ' jo iske pair mein atki hui thi...woh baahar aa gayi. Aur doosri goli jo kisi aur ne chalayi hai woh bhi baahar aa gaya. Aur khoon karne wale ne doosri goli aur shell gayab kar diya. Yeh doosri gun bohot powerful thi...aur uski bullet bhi. Shaayad khooni ne ise chloroform ka mild dose dekar behosh bhi kar diya hoga, taaki Ranjeet kisi doctor ko phone na kar sake. Yeh post mortem mein dikhai nahi diya..yaa phir forensic doctor ne jaan boojhkar is baat ko chupayi hai.

ACP : Hmm...toh Maya ne khoon nahi kiya hai...use phaansi hone se bachana hoga.

Abhijeet : Lekin sir...ab toh case ka judgement bhi ho gaya hai. Is case ko phir se kaise khol sakte hain?

ACP : Abhijeet, yeh tum mujhpar chodo...main kisi tarah yeh case khulwakar rahoonga.

Abhijeet : Matlab kisi ne forensic doctor ka accident karvaya aur reports ko badal diya.

ACP : Haan. Yeh forensic expert toh coma mein hai. Usse kuch pooch nahin sakte. Baaki bache Ranjeet ka bhai Ramesh aur yeh lawyer Sandeep. Daya, Abhijeet , in dono ke baare mein pata karo.

Sandeep : Haan.

Abhijeet : Lekin tum toh Maya se pyar karte the.

ACP, Daya and Abhijeet smile at each other.

Maya dar gayi, aur bhaagkar hall mein aayi, jahan main khada tha. Usne kaha ki woh bhaag jaana chahti hai. Tab meri nazar locker par padi....jo khula tha. Usme bahut saari jewellery thi. Maine jewellery ke laalach mein aakar, jaan boojhkar apna bag Ranjeet ke ghar mein chod diya.

Phir Maya aur main mere car mein baithkar thodi door tak chale gaye... Maine Maya ko ek hotel mein chodkar bag dhoondhne ka bahaana bannakar waapas Ranjeet ke ghar gaya. Locker mein 5 crore ki jewellery mili, jo Maya ki thi. Maine woh saari jewellery bag mein daal di aur apne ghar mein rakh di. Phir Maya ko hotel mein rehne ke liye kaha, taki use pata na chale ki uski jewellery mere paas hai. Maine tab notice nahin kiya ki bag mein se meri gun gaayab hai.

Abhijeet : Jab tum Ranjeet ke ghar gaye, tab Ranjeet zinda tha?

Sandeep : Ranjeet zameen par pada hua tha aur khoon beh raha tha. Maine socha ki woh behosh hai.

Abhijeet : Phir kya hua?

Sandeep : Maya ke arrest hone ke do din baad mujhe ek letter aaya...jisme likha tha ki meri gun, bullet aur shell Ranjeet ke ghar mein mili hai. (starts crying again) Aur kisi ne chupkar meri photo nikali thi jab main locker se jewellery chura raha tha. Usne photo ki ek copy bhi bheji thi.

Aur letter bhejne wale ne likha tha ki main agar case nahin haara toh woh un photos aur gun ko police ke havaale karega.

ACP : Woh letter aur photo kahan hai...hum us aadmi ke fingerprints nikaal sakte hain.

Sandeep : Maine photo aur letter ' dono jalaa diye, sir.

Doosre din forensic expert ne mujhe bataaya ki Ranjeet ka khoon kisi aur gun se hua hai aur main shaayad Maya ko bacha sakta hoon. Lekin main dar gaya...kyonki Maya ke bachne se main khud phas jaata. Isliye maine forensic expert ka accident karvaya. And breaks down, crying.

Abhijeet : Mujhe lagta hai usi ne is Sandeep ki photo nikali hogi. Us raat ko jab Sandeep jewellery churane gaya, usse pehle hi Ramesh wahan phonch gaya hoga. Aur Sandeep ki gun se apne bhai Ramesh ka khoon kar diya.

ACP : Aur phir kahin se chupkar Sandeep ka photo nikali. Aur un photos ko lekar use blackmail kiya.

Abhijeet : Haan sir, khooni wohi hai.

Daya : Lekin khoon toh 5 saal pehle hua tha...hum chaahakar saboot ya fingerprints bhi nahin dhoondh sakte hain.

ACP : Haan...use bohot hoshiyari se interrogate karna hoga.

Abhijeet : Yeh aap hum par chod dijiye sir.

ACP : Looks at both of them. Theek hai. Lekin uspar haath mat uthana....humare paas uske khilaaf koi saboot nahin hai. Aur agar kisi dabaav mein aakar usne kubool kiya toh use court manzoor nahin karega.

Scene : Ranjeet's brother Ramesh in bureau, being interrogated by Abhijeet and Daya.

Abhijeet : Ramesh, humne tumhe yahan tumhare bhai ke khoon ke case ke baare mein kuch pooch-taach ke liye bulaya hai.

Ramesh : Isme poochne ke liye kya bacha hai?? Meri bhabhi ne khud mere bhai ko maar daala.

..and becomes over-emotional...ACP, Daya and Abhijeet glance at each other.

Daya : Ramesh, Maya ne mujhe bataaya ki usne sirf Ranjeet ke pair par goli maari thi. Pair mein goli lagne se kisi ki maut nahin ho sakti...isliye hum yeh case phir se kholna chahte hain.

Ramesh : Aap us aurat ko bachana chahte hain, jisne mere bhai ko maar daala?

Abhijeet: Dekho Ramesh...hum kisi begunaah ko phaasi par nahin chada sakte. Sabse pehle tumne police ko phone kiya tha....tum us raat tumhare bhai ke ghar mein kya kar rahe the?

Ramesh : Sir...mujhe toh Ranjeet bhaiyya ne khud phone kiya tha, ki use goli lagi hai aur use hospital jaana hai. Isliye main us raat wahan gaya tha. Lekin jab tak main wahan pohoncha, mere bhaiyya ki maut ho chuki thi. And starts crying.

Daya : Tum lawyer Sandeep ko jaante ho?

Ramesh : Uska naam mat lijiye mere saamne...woh humara kuch official kaam karta tha, lekin uski nazar humesha Maya par thi...aur Maya bhi mere bhaiyya ko dokha dekar usse pyar karti thi.

Abhijeet : Humne Sandeep se baat ki hai. Usi ne yeh investigation phir se shuroo karvayi hai.

Ramesh : Slightly tense...Kyon? Achanak????

Abhijeet : Usne bataaya ki kuch din pehle use ek chor mila ' jo us raat Ranjeet ke ghar mein chori karne aaya tha. Us chor ne khoon hote hue dekha tha aur photo nikali thi. Sandeep ke ghar mein us photo ka negative hai, jo kal subah Sandeep humein dene wala hai. Photo print hote hi khooni ka bhi pata chal jaayega.

Daya surprised, gives Abhijeet questioning glances...then understands.

Daya : Haan, bus photo milne ki deri hai. Ab tum jaa sakte ho. Kal subah milte hain.

Ramesh : Mujhe kal subah phir se yahan aana hoga?

Daya : Arey, kamaal hai....tum jaanna nahin chahte ki tumhare pyare bhai ka asli khooni kaun hai?

Ramesh : H..Haan...kyon nahin.....main kal aata hoon.

And he leaves. Daya and Abhijeet exchange smiles.

Fredricks : Abhijeet sir....yeh negative kahan se aa gaya???Aapne hume nahin bataaya.

Abhijeet : Koi negative nahin hai Freddie...agar Ramesh khooni hai, toh aaj raat zaroor Sandeep ke ghar jaaayega - negative churane ke liye. Aur hum use range haath pakad lenge.

Scene : Lawyer Sandeep's house. CID team members hiding in the darkness at strategic positions. Time ' midnight. There is a 'click' of a window's bolt opening. Everyone is alert. A dark masked figure with a torch enters through a window and goes towards the cupboard. The thief opens takes out a knife, opens the cupboard and starts searching. He finds lots of money and jewellery, but doesn't seem interested. ACP gives Daya a nod and Daya rushes towards the thief and catches him red-handed.

Thief : Aaah....chodo mujhe....

ACP : Kya dhoondh rahe ho???

Thief : M..M...Main ek chor hoon. Chori karne aaya tha...Starts crying....maaf kar do saab, dubaara nahin karoonga...

Abhijeet: Yeh kaisa chor???? Jise paise aur jewellery mein koi dilchaspi nahin hai?

ACP : Daya...iska ghoonghat nikaalo.

Daya removes the mask and the person is none other than Ramesh ' Ranjeet's brother.

ACP : TUM!!! Tum yahan kya kar rahe ho???

No answer...suddenly Ramesh escapes out of Daya's hands and runs away. Daya chases him and finally catches him and gives him a hard slap. PHAAAAAT!!!

Scene : Bureau...Ramesh sitting in chair crying....surrounded by CID team.

Ramesh : Haan...maine apne bhai ko maara. Ranjeet mera sautela bhai tha. Humare pitaji ne use jaaydaad ka zyada hissa diya tha. Lekin main chup tha...socha ki kisi din main iska badla zaroor loonga.

Us raat Ranjeet ne mujhe phone kiya aur bataaya ki use goli lagi hai aur use hospital jaane me madad chahiye. Jab main wahan pohoncha toh Sandeep ka bag hall mein dikhai diya. Main jaanta tha ki Sandeep ke paas gun hai. Maine bag khola aur gun nikaal li. Phir main apne bhai ke kamre mein jaakar uske pair mein phir se goli maar di. Phir maine woh goli aur shell nikaal diya.

Achaanak Sandeep wahan aa gaya. Main chup gaya. Maine dekha ki woh locker mein se jewellery nikaal raha tha...toh maine apne mobile se photo nikaal li, taaki main use blackmail kar sakoon.

ACP : Apne hi bhai ka khoon kar diya tumne!!! Aur ek begunaah ko phaansi ki sazaa dilayi...Ab Tumhe phaansi se koi nahin bacha sakta.

Maya was cleared of murder charge. However, she did shoot at her husband, so she was guilty of assault. But she had already served 5 years in jail, so she was released. Ramesh was given phaansi. And lawyer Sandeep received 10 years imprisonment for theft and 'attempt to murder the forensic doctor' ( by sabotage of breaks of the bike and causing an accident).

SCENE 1

A party at DCP's home...

Its DCP's 60th birthday.CID Team present...enjoying among themselves.Abhijeet and Daya standing with ACP at one side with cold drinks in their hands...Freddy alongside..Vivek and Tasha enjoying together on the dance floor.All very happy....

Right then ACP's cell phone rings..he recieves it...

He shifts to one corner where there would be less noise...he speaks for sometime.A little irritated.Abhijeet, Daya and Freddy noticing all this.ACP cuts the phone.Looks here and there agitatedly..and comes back to where he was standing..

ACP (to Abhijeet, Daya and Freddy who were looking at ACP as if wanting to know "whats the matter") : Mujhe abhi jaana hoga.Kuch jaroori kaam hai.Tum log yahin par ruko.Main kaam khatam kar seedhe ghar chala jaunga.Tum log bhi chale jaana.

Abhi: Lekin sir koi problem hai kya?

ACP(trying to pretend as if nothing really): Arre nahi nahi..aisi koi baat nahi hai.Kal Bureau mein bataunga...Bye.

ACP leaves.Everyone a little confused but decide to get back to the party mood.

SCENE 2

CENTRAL JAIL

Jailer is taking ACP to some "Qaidi"...they are talking while walking

Jailer: ACP saahab, I am really Sorry for the incovinience.Par wo ladki jid par adi hui hai. keh rahi hai ki aapse milna hi uski aakhri khwahish hai.

ACP:Hai kahaan wo?

Jailer(reaching the desired lock up): Yeh rahi...(turning to the prisoner)Simran.Yeh lo.Tumhare ACP sir aa gaye..

A girl in her twenties....she turns back.It seems she has been crying day and night.As soon as she sees ACP she runs towards him...She is till inside the lock-up.ACP and jailer outside it.

Simran: ACP uncle..aap aa gaye.Thanks a lot uncle.Uncle please mujhe bacha lijie.Please...

ACP: Simran, main kisi khooni ko bacha nahi sakta.Tumne gunaah kiya hai aur uski sazaa milne waali hai tumhe. Ismein mera kya kaam? Kyun sabko pareshan kar rahi ho? Kyun baar baar mujhse milne ki jid kar rahi ho, Haan?

Simran: Uncle Aap to mera yakeen karo.Maine kuch nahi kiya hai.Vikram ko maine nahi maara.Meri baat par koi yakeen hi nahi kar raha.Mujhe apne papa ki kasam.Vikram jaisa bhi tha, mera pati tha..main use kaise maar sakti hoon..

ACP ignoring her requests...

Simran(continuing): Uncle aapke baare mein Papa hamesha mujhse kehte the.Wo kehte the ki aap kisi bhi criminal ko nahi chodte..main aapse sach keh rahi hoon.Vikram ka khooni bahar aazad ghoom raha hai.Mujhe to us galti ki saza mil rahi hai jo maine kiya hi nahi.Agle hafte mujhe faansi par chada denge yeh log, lekin asli gunehgaar to aazaad hai uncle.Please...please mujhe bacha lijie.Main marna nahi chahti...Please Uncle..Please.

ACP knew that it was next to impossible to save her.More importantly why should he believe her? Just because she was his dead friend's daughter!! He cant...But still something in the girl's eyes made him feel that there could be some truth in what she was saying.After all, he has spent more than 35 years in CID..He cant be totally wrong in judging someone...

He kept shut and left the place.Simran still crying as now she didnt have any hope left!!!

SCENE 3

At the jailer's table.

ACP: Jailer Saahab, mujhe is Simran ke case ka file chahiye.Aap iske saare details CID BUREAU mein bhej dijie.Aur ek baat, is case ko jo Inspector handle kar raha tha 2 mahine pehle, use bhi BUREAU bhej dijie...

ACP leaves...Jailer surprised by ACP's decision.

We are shown that at one corner a news reporter(the one who had a "lafda" with ACP once upon a time) is standing ...He has heard the conversation..He grins and leaves..

SCENE 4

CID BUREAU

Entire CID team present.They have been called by ACP that night itself.He has already told them about Simran and his decision of re-opening the case.

They were discussing about the case when a police officer arrives with some files in his hand..He has been the officer who was incharge of "The Vikram murder case".

Kaleskar: Inspector Kaleskar reporting Sir.

ACP welcomes him with a smile...

Kaleska(stepping forward)r: Sir, yeh kya? Aap Vikram Murder Case ko re-open kar rahe hain? Lekin kyun? Aapko hum par bharosa nahi raha sir?

ACP: Arre nahi kaleskar.Is Simran ki akhri khwahish hai ki main is case par ekbaar gaur karun.Waise bhi officially main abhi kuch nahi kar sakta.isilie unofficially yeh sab...

Kalekar(smiling): Samajh gaya..khair..2 mahine pehle...

He tells the CID team about what all had happend two months ago...

FLASHBACK:

No one at home.Vikram's parents have gone for Puja in a temple..they do so every Tuesday.Servant has gone to his village.He does that every year at that time..so nothing suspicious aboutt him either.Only Simran and Vikram present at home.Neighbour hears a gunshot.Comes and finds that Vikram lying dead..Simran sitting next to him, crying..a gun lying alongside.Neighbour calls the police...

Later the police found that the bullet in Vikrams body matched with bullets from the gun lying beside.Fingerprints found on the gun matched with Simran.Everyone knew that Vikram was a violent husband..and so the motive was taken to be Revenge of the injustice that she had recieved.So Simran was put behind bars and is going to be hanged the next week.

Freddy: Sir, is case mein koi galti to nazar nahi aa rahi.mujhe lagta hai hum apna waqt barbaad kar rahe hain.

ACP(very irritated): Mujhe dikhta hai Freddy.main andha nahi hoon.Lekin fir bhi.Shayad koi aisi suraag mil jaaye jisse asli khooni tak pahuncha ja sake.

Freddy is about to say something again when Abhijeet stops him by nodding as if saying that "Kuch mat bolo abhi"

Daya: Sir, hume Simran se hi poochtaach karni hogi.Pehle yeh to pata chale ki wo apne baare mein safaayi kaise deti hai.

ACP: Thik hai.Hum kal subhah usse milne jayenge, CENTRAL JAIL

SCENE 5

CENTRAL JAIL

CID team here to meet Simran.Simran glad that ACP has heard her requests.

Tasha: Dekho Simran, gun par tumhare fingerprints mile hain..ghar par tumhare aur Vikram ke alawa koi tha bhi nahi.to fir iska matlab to yahi hua na ki khoon tumne hi kiya hai!

Simran: Maine koi khoon nahi kiya.Haan yeh sach hai ki maine gun nikali thi aur goli bhi calayi thi, par maine Vikram ko nahi maara!!Main to sirf use daraana chahti thi.Taaki wo kabhi mujhe pareshaan na kare.

Abhi: Wah! kya baat hai..Goli chalayi tumne aur keh rahi ho ki tumne Vikram ko nahi maara!! Majaak samjha hai? Hain?

Daya: Kehna kya chahti ho tum?

Simran: Maine jis gun se goli chalayi thi wo to nakli thi!

Everyone shocked to hear this.

Vivek: Nakli gun? lekin jo gun police ko mili wo to asli thi.

Simran(back to crying): Mujhe nahi pata asli gun kahaan se chali aayi.Mere paas to koi gun thi hi nahi siwaaye us nakli gun ke.

Abhi: Tumhaare paas koi sabut hai yeh saabit karne ke lie ki tum sach bol rahi ho?

Simran(nodding saying no...then after sometime): Meri friend Priya guns ki shaukeen hai.Usise mujhe in nakli guns ke baare mein pata chala.Usne mujhe dukaan ka address bhi diya.jahaan se maine ek nakli gun kharidi.

SCENE 6

Priya's residance

Priya: Haan yeh sach hai.Simran ko maine hi nakli guns ke baare men bataya tha.Aur usne mere bataye hue dukaan se ek gun kharidi bhi thi.lekin mujhe nahi pata use asli gun kahaan mila aur...

SCENE 7

The shop were "nakli" guns are available.

Adderss taken from Priya.Entire CID team present other than ACP.

Abhi: dekhiye hum CID se hain.Humein pata lagana hai ki February ke mahine mein, kisi Simran naam ki ladki ne aapke yahaan se koi nakli gun kharidi ya nahi.

Shopkeeper: Thoda wait kijie..main Register check karta hoon.

He searches in the register for the name -SIMRAN..but no such name found.

CID TEAM shocked to hear this.

SCENE 8

In the car-WHITE QUALIS(usual CID car)

Daya on Driver's seat.Abhijeet next to him.Others on the back seat.ACP has been informed that there was no "Simran" found in the register.They are all heading towards CENTRAL JAIL where they will be joined by ACP.

Freddy: Sir, Yeh ACP Sir, bina matlab ke Simran ke case ko open kar rahe hain! Mujhe pakka yakeen hai, yeh Simran humare saath koi game khel rahi hai.

Daya: Haas Boss.Simran hi khooni hai.Warna wo humein jhoot kyun bolti! ACP sir shayad bin matlab ke Simran ko bachana pe tule hain!

Abhi: Yeh kya keh rahe ho Daya? ACP PRADYUMAN kabhi bhi bina soche samjhe koi kadam nahi uthata.Is baar bhi unhone kuch soch ke hi yeh kadam uthaya hoga na! Thoda intezaar karte hain.Shayad kuch aisa hai jo humein najar nahi aa raha...

SCENE 9

CENTRAL JAIL

ACP(very angry): JHOOT ! Jhoot kaha tumne humse.Tumne koi gun nahi kharidi thi..Humne khud jaakar chek kiya hai us dukaan mein.Simran naam ka koi bhi unke register mein nahi mila !!!

Simran(still crying): Sir, maine gun kharidi thi.Mera yakeen kariye......(thinks for a moment)Ek minute.main aap sabko ek baat batana bhul gayi.Maine Dukaan mein mera naam Simran nahi likhaya tha.Main Raksha bankar gayi thi wahaan...main nahi chahti thi kisiko bhi iske baare mein pata chale isilie yeh nakli naam se kharida maine.

SCENE 10

CID BUREAU

A scene in between has been left to our imagination.Vivek and Tasha had visited the shop again where they have found that Simran was correct.She had bought a false gun with the name Raksha.

A call comes on ACP's cell.he recieves it.It was a call from DCP.He talks to him.Others wonder whats wrong as tehy cant hear the conversation as ACP has moved into his cabin.After the conversation ACP comes out in a hurry and...

ACP: Vivek jara TV on karo. Yeh media waale paagal karke hi chodenge!

Vivek switches on to some news channel.

BREAKING NEWS: ACP PRADYUMAN TRYING TO SAVE HIS FRIEND'S DAUGHTER FROM GETTING HANGED..INSPITE OF KNOWING THAT SHE IS A MUDERER!

Everyone shoked to see this.Right then some reporters arrive.Everyone other than ACP try to prevent them from entering the BUREAU..

Reporter 1: ACP sir, kya yeh sach hai ki aap apne dost ki beti ko bachaane ki koshish kar rahe hain?

Reporter 2: Aapko to pata haina ki wo ek khooni hai.Fir bhi aap use bacha rahe hain? Aap desh ke saath gaddari kar rahe hain?

Abhi-Daya had lost their temper by now...But ACP stops them from doing anything which may worsen the situation..

Daya: Dekho....(stops when aked to by ACP)

ACP:Dekhiye..aap log jo marji mein aaye mat boliye.Maine aaj tak kisi murjim ko nahi choda hai.Aur agar Simran khooni hai to use agle hafte sazaa ho hi jayegi.Lekin kanoon ka sabse bada niyam hai- ki chahe sau murjim chhoot jaye lekin, ek bhi begunaah ko sazaa nahi honi chahiye.

SCENE 11:

Forensic lab

Salunke: ACP sahaab, yeh kaunsi nayi musibat mor leli? Media waale to aapke peeche hi pad gaye hain! yeh sab bhul gaye ki yeh wo hi ACP PRADYUMAN hai jo murjim ko sazaa dene ke lie kisi bhi had tak jaa sakta hai.

ACP:Achhe kaam kisiko yaad nahi rehte Salunke.Khair, tu yeh bata ki kuch pata chala is case ke baare mein?

Salunke: Dekho Boss, jyada kuch nahi keh sakta.lekin photo aur post mortem report ko milakar dekha to pata laga ki SHAYAD Simran begunaah hai.

Abhi: Kya? Lekin aapko aisa kyun lagta hai?

Taarika: Idhar dekho Abhijeet(showing him the photos that are posted on the board and hands him the PM report) Goli sir ke beecho beech lagi hai..bilkul seedha ghusi hai.Lekin jahaan tak hum jaante hain, SImran Vikram se kareeb 4 inch se height mein kam thi.To agar uske goli se Vikram ki maut hui hoti to goli thodi neeche lagti.ya fir tedhi hokar ghusti.

Daya(surprised):Iska matlab, Simran begunaah hai.woh sach bol rahi hai!!

Salunke: Shayad.

Tasha: Sir, mujhe lagta hai humein un logon se ekbaar poochtaach karni chahiye, jo log wahaan par maujood the.

ACP(raising an eyebrow):To thik hai.Daya, Vivek aur Tasha..tum teeno jao aur un saare witnesson se poochtaach karo.Hum police ki li hui crime scene ke photos dekhte hain.Shayad kuch pata chal jaaye.

SCENE 12

CID BUREAU

Abhijeet, Freddy and ACP checking out the pics in the projection room.After sometime..

Abhi: Sir, Simran ne kaha ki usne nakli gun se shoot kiya tha.Iska matlab false bullet bhi us gun se nikla tha.Lekin Vikram ke body par koi bhi aise ghaw ka nishaan nahi mila

Freddy: Arre haan sir.Wo nakli bullet gayi kahaan?

Abhi: .To iska matlab yeh hai ki woh false bullet Vikram ko na lagkar kahin aur lagi hai.

ACP(thinking):Shayad deewar pe....Abhijeet, Vikram jis taraf peeth karke khada tha, us taraf ki deewaron ke pics par zoom karo.Dekhte hain kuch milta hai ki nahi.

AND YES!! BINGO...They find a spot on the wall which was most probably the wall behind Vikram when he was standing.Or in other words, the wall towards which Simran fired..

ACP: Fantastic! Ek kaam karo Abhijeet.daya ko phone karo aur kaho ki Vikram ki kamre ke is deewar ko achhi tarah se check kare.Yeh nishan use jaroor milega.

SCENE 13

CID BUREAU

Daya, Vivek and Tasha have searched for that spot on the walls in Vikram's room.They tried hard but didnt find any such spot.They return to Bureau.

ACP: Aisa kaise ho sakta hai?Photo mein to saaf najar aa rahi thi humein.woh spot gayab kaise ho gayi?

Vivek: Sir, humne achhi tarah se chhan mara par kuch nahi mila.

Abhi: Sir aisa bhi to ho sakta hai ki kisine wo toota hua hissa repairing karwa di.

SCENE 14

CID BUREAU

The servant at Vikram's residance has been called...CID team interrogating.

Daya: Tum kahaan the jab khoon hua?

Servant: Saahab, main to gaon gaya tha.Mujhe khoon ke agle din phone karke bulaya gaya.

Abhi: Achha yeh batao, investigation ke dauraan ya, khoon ke kuch dino ke andar ghar pe koi kaam waam karwaya gaya tha? mera matlab hai koi chhota mota repairing ka kaam?

Servant: Haan saahab.Vikram saahab ke room ko paint kiya gaya tha.Sharma babu apne bete ke maut ke baad bahut dukhi the.Unhone hi karwaya tha.

SCENE 15

Interrogation room

Mr.Sharma(Vikram's father) sitting in the middle.He seems to be very nervous

ACP: SACH SACH BATAO.KYUN MAARA TUMNE APNE BETE KO? AISI KYA BAAT HO GAYI THI?HAAN?

Mr.Sharma(very irritated and at the same time very nervous, sweating): Maine Vikram ka khoon nahi kiya hai.Main kabse ek hi baat bataaye ja raha hoon aur aap log hain ki mante hi nahi!

Daya: Achha? To tumhare paseene kyun chhoot rahe hain? Sach sach batao.Simran ko bhala kyun phansa diya?Usne kya bigada tha tumhara?

Mr.Sharma(still hesitant to say anything): Dekhiye aap log yeh kya bakwaas kar rahe hain..Maine...

Abhi(slapping the table in front of Mr.Sharma..loud noise produced that Mr.Sharma jumped back): CHUP! Hum log yahaan bakwaas kar rahe hain?Agar seedhe seedhe chonch nahi kholi to humein dusre tarike bhi aate hain.

Mr.Sharma(starts crying, as if feeling guilty): Maine Vikram ka khoon nahi kiya.Woh mera beta tha.Vikram ka khoon Sheela ne kiya...(breaking down)

Everyone shocked to hear the name Sheela.Sheela is Mrs.Sharma..

ACP: Mrs.Sharma???!!!! Ek Maa ne apne bete ka khoon kar diya?!!!..Hain kahaan wo abhi?

Mr.Sharma(still in tears): Pata nahi.Aaj subhah Aapke officers k jaane ke baad, Karan aaya tha.Wo dono kahin chale gaye.Phone bhi band hai.

Karan is Mrs.Sharma's younger brother...

SCENE 16

CID BUREAU

ACP is busy talking on phone in his cabin.Vivek is doing something on his computer.Tasha too talking on phone.Abhijeet and Daya enter..ACP keeps his phone and comes to Abhi and Daya.

ACP: Maine Headquarters mein khabar kar di hai.Simran ke phaansi par stay order lagaane ka request bhi kiya hai.Kal subhah 6 baje phaansi hone waali thi.Lekin shayad ab 6 ghante ke lie stay order laga hai...Kisi bhi haalat mein humein is Sheela aur karan ka pata lagana hoga.Jab tak yeh humein nahi mil jaate, Simran ke phaansi par pakka koi decision nahi liya ja sakta....Khair, Is Sharma ne kya statement diya?

Abhi: Sir, usne to Sheela ki poori kundli khol di. Yeh Sheela Vikram ki sauteli maa thi.Usne Vikram ko kyun maara yeh to is Sharma ko nahi maloom..par haan , isne Sheela ko gun badalte hue dekh liya tha.Aur paint karne ka idea bhi Sheela ka hi tha.

ACP: Lekin agar ise sab maloom tha to isne police ko sach bataya kyun nahi? Chup kyun raha?

Daya:Sir, uski bhi ek alag kahaani hai.Sir, is Sharma ne hi apni patni ka khoon kiya tha!

ACP(shocked): KYA?

Abhi: Jee sir.Yeh Sheela SHarma ki saali lagti thi.Usne Ise apni patni ka khoon karte dekh liya.Pata nahi kyun usne kisiko bataya nahi.ulta isise shaadi kar li! Isi baat ko lekar blackmail karti thi is Sharma ko.

Vivek now comes forward from leaving his computer.

Vivek: Sir..

ACP: Haan Vivek.Kuch pata laga?

Vivek:Nahi sir.Yeh dono to apna phone ON hi nahi kar rahe hain.Saare mobile company-on ko khabar kar di hai.Phone switch on hote hi unhe track kar liya jaega.

Abhi: Aur credit cards wagera?

Tasha: Nahi sir..Koi transaction nahi.

Freddy enters...

Freddy: Sir, ek nayi baat pata chali hai.

Daya:Kya?

Freddy: Is Sharma ne bataya ki wo dono ek White Honda City mein nikle the.Karan ki gadi thi.Lekin...Number pata nahi.

ACP: To kya hua Fredricks!! Yeh information kaafi hain.Daya pata karo is shehar mein kitne logon ke paas White Honda City hain.Unmein se ek Karan Lakhotiya bhi hoga...Check karo..Humein shayad car ka number mil jaaye.

Vivek: Lekin sir agar ek se jyaada Karan Lakhotiya ke paas White Honda City hui to?

Abhi: Vivek..Aisi negative baatein kyun soch rahe ho? Pehle check to kar lein..

Daya checks on the computer..and luckily Vivek is proved wrong.There is only one Karan Lakhotiya who has a white Honda City.They note down the number and inform the police.

SCENE 17

CID BUREAU

Its 7 : 00 a.m.

CID Team has been awake all night...they are all hoping that Karan and Sheela might make a mistake soon and they will catch them.Most importantly they are more concerned for Simran..who being an innocent has to be saved...

Suddenly,Freddy's cell phone rings...He recieves the call.

Freddy: Hello? Kya? Address batao...(He notes down).Thank you very much.

He keeps the phone and turns to others with a happy face..

Freddy: Sir, Karan ki gaari ka pata chal gaya.

SCENE 18

Hotel Princess

CID finds Karan's car parked outside the hotel as informed. They go to the reception and ask for their room number.Just as they expected the room wasnt booked under the original names, as there were no one with the names Karan Lakhotia and Sheela Sharma...CID showed their pictures to the receptionist and also some of the staff.But none of them recognise them properly.However, one of the waiters...

Waiter: Sir, Room no. 504 mein rehne waale log mujhe kuch thik nahi lagte.Maine to unka chehra bhi thik se nahi dekha.Woh dono to apne kamre se kabhi nikalte hi nahi.Khana bhi kamre mein order kar dete hain..aur khana dene jao to baahar chhod ke chale jaane ko kehte hain.yahaan tak ki housekeeping ke lie bhi andar jaane nahi dete.

ACP: Kuch to gadbad hai.Shayad yehi hain wo dono jinki humein talash hai.

They all go to the floor.Abhijeet Knocks on the door...

Karan(from inside): Kaun hai?

Abhijeet(changing his tone to that of a waiter): Room Service, sir.

Karan:Lekin humne to kuch order nahi kiya?!!

Abhijeet: Sir, wo humein Minibar check karna tha.Routine hai sir.Bas 1 minute ke lie darwaaza khol dijie.

Karan(very irritated, opens the door): Kya hai?!Kyun pareshaan kar rahe ho?

he sees the CID team..shocked.Is about to shut the door.But Daya kicks it so hard that he falls back.

CID team enter the room, but right then Karan takes out his gun and starts firing.No one is shot.CID team take their respective positions, some behind the cupboard, Abhi-Daya behind the sofa..

(In the meantime, there is panic outside the room...people run out of their rooms on hearing gunshots)

Freddy who was standing behind the cupboard, jumps out and pushes the door of the room so as to close it and then jumps back to his position.He does so..in order to ensure the security of others outside the room.

Firing continues for a short period of time..Abhi-Daya move forward, towards Karan and Sheela who were now hiding in the bathroom..Others cover them.Finally karan loses control over his gun when Abhi shoots him in his hand..and Daya taking the advantage catches him.Tasha follows and slaps Sheela hard.

SCENE 19

CENTRAL JAIL

CID has submitted a report on the case..accordingly an FIR has been lodged against Sheela and Karan.After strict interrogation, they have taken responsibilty for Vikram's death and given the following description...so we go back into the Flashback...Imagine ACP and his team giving these details to Simran who was curious to know about her Husband's death.

FLASHBACK:

Sheela hated her elder sister from young age itself as her sister was better than her in every aspect.She always suffered from an intense inferiority complex.When her sister got married to Mr.Sharma, she was left disheartened as she too was fond of Mr.Sharma.One day she caught him killing her sister...she was overjoyed from within and so helped him hide the truth.In return she forced him to marry her.Now she was satisfied but Vikram(her sister's only son) was the only one who reminded her of her elder sister...She always hated him.After marriage, Vikram decided to take over the entire Sharma empire..which annoyed her further.This led her to make a conspiracy against him.A day was chosen when no one would be at home and Karan(his brother, who supported her in every crime she ever did) would come and kill Vikram.However,to their surprise Simran(who was to go back to her parents' home that day) stayed back at home...When karan saw Simran raising her gun, he took an advantage and shot Vikram.A silencer was fitted to Karan's gun and so no one could hear two gunshots.He escaped from the spot before the neighbours arrived..and everyone saw Simran at the crime spot.When Sheela(who was informed about the entire situation by Karan on phone) and Mr.Sharma returned, she somehow managed to change Simran's gun with Karan's who too had arrived back at the crime spot.Also the false bullet was removed from the crime spot by karan.All this happened before the police had arrived..In utter disbelief at what she had done, Simran by mistake had caught the replaced gun and so her fingerprints were found on it. Mr.Sharma who had seen Sheela changing the gun was blackmailed about his earlier crime and so he kept shut.

Entire CID Tea present.Jailer and Simran present too...

Simran(with tears in eyes...as we would say "Khushi ke aansu"): Mujhe to apni kismat par yakeen hi nahi ho raha.Maut ke mooh se nikal aayi!!

Now turning to ACP and others..

Simran: Thank u ACP uncle..aap sabke is karj ko main jindagi bhar yaad rakhungi! Thank u once again..

Abhijeet: Aap to bewajah, humein mahaan bana rahin hai.Karj kaisa?Aapko us galti ki saza kyun mile jise apne kiya hi na ho?

ACP: Bilkul..Yeh humara farz tha beti.Jaise Gunehgaaron ko saza dena humara farz hai...thik usi tarah begunahon ko bachana bhi humari duty hai..

SCENE 20

In the car

Daya on driver's seat..ACP next to him..Others behind.

They are all very satisfied to save an innocent and punish the criminals...In very good mood.

Tasha(a little scared): Sir, main ek baat poonchho?

ACP: Haan haan..poochho poocho? Kya baat hai?

Tasha: Sir, aap kisi par bhi itni aasani se yakeen nahi karte.To fir sab ke khilaf jaakar aapne achanak Simran par kaise yakeen kar liya?

ACP smiles..

Abhijeet(smiling): Tasha, ACP sir ne 35 saal CID mein rehkar aise hi apne saare baal nahi giraye!!!

ACP(looking at Abhijeet with an angry face...Everyone else too gets scared to see his change in expression): Saare baal nahi!! ( then getting back to his smiling face) Abhi bhi kuch baaki hain!!

Everyone share a good laugh....
