@ Deepika- But both my parents are Bangaals. My mom refused to be lifted up..(she is as obstinate as me).Yet she had to do the rounds. But this custom is very much practised by our relatives here who are pure Bangaals.

many accidents have happened during those stool liftings....there' s one cousin of mine who is a bit richly endowed in health matters and when my male cousins lifted her and proceeded forward, after a while they dropped her due to her massive weight...😆well, am all for the baangaal way of coming to the marriage altar on my own feet...i wont allow any stool lifting...i will go my mother's way

Another good thing about marriages ( if one is from the bride's side) then one has the liberty of stealing shoes of the groom.Earned Rs 6000 in the last wedding I attended, from this. & no body could call CID to punish us for this theft. 😆
