If it is so, I am sorry for this. It was just spontaneous, there was absolutely no other intention.

@ visrom, thanks dear for the link.

Actually that's a wrong notion - Malayalam has a lot of Sanskrit. It's the accent that makes it a bit difficult to understand.
Tamil has comparatively very less Sanskrit. The pure Tamil that they show on Sun TV, Jaya TV news is incomprehensible to people like me who know only spoken Tamil. I find Marathi and Punjabi easier to follow than the 'shuddha' Tamil they speak in news. (I sometimes feel it's something I should be ashamed of.😆)

Yeah....you are somewhat right. Malayalam and Tamil have some common words...but Malayalam has lot of Sanskrit.
Tamil alphabet does not follow the standard Sanskrit form of A Aa I Ee....ka kha ga gha etc...it's a bit different.
The other 3 south Indian languages follow the same Ka kha ga gha...as in Sanskrit. So in a way, Tamil is slightly difficult to learn for people who are used to the sanskrit format.
Anyway...no offence to anyone. I personally have no regional affiliations - I belong to 3 different states - one state where was born, a different state's language which is my mother tongue and a third state where I grew up. So...I am just an Indian. I don't intend to offend anybody and I believe that all languages are unique and all Indians are equal.

I mentioned - Kannada is the only South Indian language I don't know.(sorry Daya sir) So I belong to the other 3 states in different ways. 😉
