I was so adrenalized after watching the episode that I turned off the computer and went straight to bed hoping to calm down a bit, but the images kept playing like a loop in my head and I couldn't sleep till about 1:00! I'm sure this will go down in the history of CID as one of the most remarkable and memorable episodes ever. What's even more special - there were no stunts, huge locales or high-action chases at all. Just one forest and our small team being stalked by HD's sinister plan. The result is a psychological terror which keeps the audience at the edge of the seat till the very last second. Loved it, loved it, loved every moment of our team's performance! 😃😃
Firstly I want to say that as many below average stories she may have written, Nitika Kanwar produced a really unexpected and engaging plot this time and I'm really happy for that! Although there were some loopholes and it wasn't exactly the most logical move by HD (who seems to be making rather a lot of mistakes for an evil crime lord), the resulting episode was even more deeply engaging than Friday's, thanks to the outstanding performances of not just our Trio, but a member of the team who had been in the background till very recently and who has now finally got a chance to let her talent take flight, and succeeded brilliantly - Tasha. I'll save the best for the last! 😊
To begin with, Abhijeet - I'll say this is once again testimony to show what an amazing, amazing actor Aditya sir is. Just look at the ease with which he goes from a brave CID officer, to a person horribly tortured by enemies, to an ice-cold villain, and back again. We last saw this side of him in Beherupiya when he played the impostor Abhijeet (Rocky) and now we see him play Abhijeet under the effect of HD's drugs. Look at the ferocity with which he snaps at Tasha and ACP sir, it's enough to give anyone the shivers! When he first wakes up, "deduces" that he's a criminal and Tasha arrested him and confronts her, what a brilliant performance. And in the final scene when he non-verbally decides along with Daya to get ACP sir out of the house and impulsively points the gun at ACP sir, changes his mind and immediately threatens to kill himself, a truly tragic and shining moment that I think is one of the best I've ever seen here. Hats off, hats off to him. 👏👏👏
This is probably the first time we've seen Daya sir in a negative role and how brilliantly he pulls it off. The interesting thing is he doesn't even have to raise his voice - just see the scene when he approaches Tasha slowly and speaks in a low growl "Darr lag raha hai kya"? And of course the scene just before they regain their memory, when he discovers she lied to him. Wah, wah! It was really bone-chilling and a really brilliant performance. And the last scene when he literally lifts ACP sir to get him out of the house to safety, and closes the door with a "I'm sorry, Sir" 😭, one of the shortest but most dramatically emotional moments ever. My salute to him, sach mein maza aa gaya ye performance dekh ke. I think the effect would've been even more powerful if they hadn't shown the duo in the precap (but I'm not complaining because otherwise it would've been too horrid!).
ACP sir had a comparatively slightly smaller role in the initial forest scenes, but he performs terrifically when he meets both Abhi-Daya and remembers, "main tum dono ko jaanta hoon". That entire scene was brilliantly performed by everyone and had a really powerful effect (I just wish they had inserted a bit of flashback scenes from the golden moments there, but it's still OK). His reactions after the house explodes is truly heart-wrenching to watch, the way he cries out "main haar gaya". 😭😭 His was really in amazing form today and I'm sure that will expand even more in the finale! Love you Sir!
Here's what I felt for Tasha as I watched her performance - 🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️🤗
It's so easy to forget she was just acting, and imagine that it's really happening. This is the first time she's properly got a huge part of the episode depending on her and she's really pulled it off brilliantly. Her expressions are so realistic - her shock and confusion when nobody recognizes her or each other, when Abhijeet treats her like an enemy, when she hides behind the rock and Daya sir finds her (I could sooo feel for her at this point!!), when she lies to him and he threatens her, and when finally both Abhi and Daya move on to shoot at her... Vaishnavi captured the expressions of shock, horror and desperation so well and I'm truly happy to see her finally in the limelight and show her true potential! The way she tells them "aap to CID ki jaan hain!' was so powerful too. HD underestimated her. I can only hope she's given more opportunities like this, totally loved it! 😃😃😃
The only negative point I can think of is the scenes of HD and his cronies... I too feel the guy dubbing for HD comes off as rather corny and annoying, especially his laughter. He doesn't seem to be making the smartest moves either. But either way, it's fairly acceptable and doesn't spoil the overall episode, and I hope he's depicted in a proper and threatening manner in the finale. The direction by Nandu Kale and editing were pretty good and I also think the background music in some of the scenes (where they regain their memory, and ACP sir's reaction to the bomb blast) was effective and not obnoxiously loud.
This was a truly memorable episode and I'm sure we're in for a real treat today in the final confrontation in Paris! 😃
