BP Singh's Fireworks Productions has a twin reason to celebrate. Two of the company's oldest TV shows, Aahat and CID, complete 15 and 12 year runs each on Sony TV, for which special edition episodes have been planned. Currently, the CID team, headed by ACP Pradyuman (Shivaji Satam), is hunting for an unseen Don in Zurich. Meanwhile, a bunch of TV artistes, playing themselves, have been locked inside a bhoot bangla (haunted house) for a reality show within the show. The one, who survives the spirits, wins the game.

CID's special series flagged off last night. Aahat is yet to go on air. Ajay Bhalwankar, head of programming, Sony, beams, "It gives us a sense of pride because these shows are the longest running fiction shows on TV. The stories for these special series had been worked upon well in advance. We're hoping the audience lap them up." Isn't Aahat's special episode drawing from the concept of Bigg Boss, that starts next week on Colors?

"I don't think so," says Bhalwankar. "Aahat is a fiction show in the horror genre, where characters die one after another. Bigg Boss is a non-fiction show and though people are themselves, they don't die. There is no similarity or a planned sabotage against another show."

CID's special series, that started last night, revolves around an international don, stationed in Paris. He kidnaps one officer after another from the department, through his Indian 'executives'.

Did they decide on Paris after Farhan Akhtar locked on Berlin to film the Don sequel?

Bhalwankar denies vehemently, "Our don comes with an old baggage, which is the reason he hates CID. There will be an officer kidnapped every week, after which the ACP will nail him in Paris. The capital of France makes for great visuals."
