It SEEMS like it but that is not true. A regular income from an acting job for over 10 years, that is rare, very rare. It's not so easy to chuck it all when you have a family to feed and acting is your only source of income.

Have wanted to post this, maybe this is the right place.

Did anyone see the Lafangey Parindey? It has Kay Kay Menon (Sagar from CID 111) who is sort of considered in the same league as Aditya Srivastav, Irfan Khan, Rahul Bose, etc. They are sort of considered actors of similar genre. Though for me Adi Sir is way superior to all of them but that is not the point here. Kay Kay has never been my favorite but I acknowledge that Kay Kay is a great actor. He was in such a miniscule role that it is not funny. I felt bad for him, I wonder why he chose this role. It does no justice to him, his talent, he was like an extra. I am grateful that we have Adi Sir in CID where he is the Hero; I don't mind seeing him as a hero is bogus case in CID than seeing him as an extra in a Bollywood film. And that hold true for all members of my CID team, I can't see them as extras. No Way.

kay kay is a mallu. He is more professional than many others...and a good actor too....
I have seen him in drona....nice performance...dont want to say about movie...
What i am trying to say that he have a huge option...he was in drona, kantha swami- a tamil movie against Vikram, many southern movies like that....
The flexibility made him so popular, he fits any role in any language.

Which is impossible by cid actors.

I am not pulling Kay Kay down; I wonder if you are reading it the way I wanted to express it. I am saying he was used like an extra in that film and that is what I don't like. A small role with significance is different from what I saw in that film. And I would definitely not like to see my favorites like extras in movies, I rather would prefer them as heroes on TV. That is all I am saying.

his level of flexibility is unwinnable as a performer....may be in case of cid actors they do act, very well. But to perform it is different. They are typical in the way they do...and have restrictions to many roles. They are not fit for every substrate.

Hmm that is an unfair comment to make. Have you seen Satam Sir's work in regional Marathi Cinema? When all of us say that CID actors have not be used to their full potential, it means we have not seen what they are capable of and what we have not see, we can't say they can't do.
