Just watched The Case of the Frame Up. God, I can't tolerate Abhijit now. How can he be so heartless??? Everyone was attacking Sudhakar from all sides, I feel for him.š Right now, I am very, very angry at Abhijit.š” No wonder he is not meant to be ACP, Daya will do much better than him because Abhijit is too impulsive. And I think Dhananjay Manderkar did a great job, hats off to him.š He really portrayed his emotions well, especially when he was showing his hatred for Abhijit. Why wasn't this man given more scope in later years is still a mystery to me.
Actually in this respect Abhijeet is quite similar to the ACP. They are both hot-tempered, they can both be ruthless at times and they both have a tendency to scold/humiliate their subordinates in front of others. Daya has always been the more emotional guy. I liked that he waited until he and Abhijeet were alone in the office before voicing his disagreements about the way the case was being handled.

How can Abhijit suspect such a officer who had been working with him for so many years? Well, he shouldn't have thrown his weight around, but still Abhijit was blaming with lack of major evidence. Why would Suhakar scheme a cunning plan?? Well, he wasn't clearly eating facts because he as afraid. That's pretty common, if someone gets questioned by the police, that person would obviously panic, wouldn't he? And Sudhakar ran away because he wanted to get hold of the bank robbers to prove his loyality to CID....hasn't Abhijit done that too? Yes, ACP was a bit strict, but by no means rude as Abhijit. Where was the ACP anyways?
Abhijeet had a valid reason to lose his temper. Sudhakar should not have thrown his weight around like that. Plus Sudhakar is no ordinary individual who would panic on being questioned by the police: he was a police officer himself, a CID officer in fact and the case was being handled by his long-time colleagues. He shouldn't have withheld information. Abhijeet as their senior officer and acting leader of the unit (in Pradyuman's absence) could not allow his emotions to get the better of him. He had to detach himself emotionally from the case and not give Sudhakar any special preference just because he was a CID officer. You know, the law is the same for everyone and all that. Granted he should not have humiliated Sudhakar like that and was a little too harsh. But hey that's our Abhijeet. š He's the "bad cop" to Daya's "good cop" in the Western sense. š Besides, his behaviour was greatly influenced by his memory loss. It took a long time for him to adjust and calm down and move on. Back then he basically had to rebuild his life from scratch and had trouble moving past the harsh reality that his mother had died of grief because he had failed to recognize her.
Interestingly, Abhijeet's hot temper also provides a drastic change from his predecessor as ACP's second-in-command: Viren who was not quite as hot-tempered and was a lot more calm, a sharp contrast to the ACP.
