Exactly a year ago (I know, hard to believe, right?😲),
two of the most loved and cherished jodis of Indian television tied the knot in a private, home ceremony on February 15th, 2011.❤️
Who are they, you ask?🤓
They first rose to fame playing Lord Ram and Devi Sita in Sagar Arts 2008 Ramayan, and after having garnered many fans not only in India but internationally as well for their dedicated work, reached even greater heights in their successive projects.
Gurmeet Choudhary, well known among his fans as the enigmatic business tycoon, Maan Singh Khurana of Star One's Geet Hui Sabse Paraayi, one of the most popular and well loved shows of the channel, is all set to start his new project on the 20th of February this year. He will be enacting the mysterious and moody Yash of Zee TV's Punar Vivah, and will act opposite Kratika Sengar, who is famously known as Rani Laxmibai of Sagar Arts' Jhansi Ki Rani. Gurmeet is lovingly known as Ramji and Maan Sir by his loyal fans, and we hope that soon Yash too will be added to the list.
Debina Bonnerjee Choudhary on the other hand, instead of going into daily TV serials after playing the beautiful and graceful Sita Mata of Ramayan, tried her hand in a few reality shows like Pati Patni aur Woh (which Gurmeet also participated in), Zor Ka Jhatka, and Star Ya Rockstar. She also acted in three episodic roles of Sagar Arts' Mahima Shani Dev Ki, another popular mythological show, as Sati Savitri, Princess Damayanti, and Ganga, all three of them faithful devotees of Lord Shani. Finally however, she recently settled down with the highly entertaining and well-received comedy show of SAB TV, Chidiya Ghar, and is quickly becoming known by her adoring fans as the bubbly and loveable Mayuri Narayan.
Last but not least, Gurmeet and Debina acted in a short, documentary movie called Nayi Chetna, which focuses on the merits of donating blood to those who need it. This isn't the only film they have done. Before being introduced to television, Debina acted in a few South Indian and Punjabi movies, and Gurmeet is all set to release his new, well-awaited Punjabi movie, Dinkar Kapoor's Yaar Mera Rab Warga sometime this April or May.
Throughout all their new projects, beginning with their first ever show on television together, the tamil 3D fantasy Mayavi, Gurmeet and Debina have stuck with each other through thick and thin and supported each other's successes and failures, and have now become one of the most faithful and loving offscreen couples of the television industry.
So please join us today in wishing this lovely couple a happy 1st anniversary, and also continued success in whatever venture they attempt now and in the future. May their marriage continue to bear fruit and give them the happiness and prosperity they deserve.
All the best, Gurmeet and Debina Choudhary!
