After ONS fiasco, I had high hopes when Radhika told the truth about the first wedding. It turned out to be a dumb track as they never used the photos and never showed the coming out of full truth - Devki's role in trying to break the marriage, Radhika's attempts to tell the truth in the beginning, but then assuming the role of abused obligated daughter who feels that it is her duty to make sacrifices.
Yesterday, when I was trying to watch the show on youtube, the old episodes of choti bahu popped up and Radhika was shown lecturing Dev about not doing his duty towards Vishaka etc (this part of the episode when Dev found out that Vishaka defamed Radhika in order to save her skin). In the scenes, Dev was shown to look very tormented where he was repeatedly telling Radhika that he is feeling suffocated in the relationship where neither he nor Vishaka want to be married or has respect or love for each other and that this relationship is ruining three lives. Radhika was still insistent on him holding his part of the bargain and forgiving Vishaka because he had no future with Radhika. So, after watching that part of the episode, I felt that they really could have shown several scenes between Radhika and Dev where Dev is remembering the past and feeling bitter towards Radhika and then finally understanding her misplaced sense of obligation. But, they wrapped it up quickly.
Now, this Shantanu track. Again, we all got our hopes up that it would be Karan/Arjun type story where Vaishali will finally be exposed as a good hearted but narrow minded person. So, there would be some sort of clash between Dev and his mother with Dadi siding with Dev. Well, they skipped that part and made Shantanu evil. So, we all expected this week that it would be a clash between Radhika and Shantanu with Dev in disguise helping Radhika. But, today they are going to wrap up that too. So, no hopes for Gayatri's motives or anything. Feel sorry for Priyanka and Hiten as they lost this project due to bad writing and running after TRPs.
Finally, now everybody is kind of hoping that with Dev coming back, the old magic would reappear. But, I am quite pessimistic about that. As long as the same creatives remain and there is pressure from the channel, the writing would remain haphazard. In any case, I am happy that I have finally gone to the boredom stage after being outraged for so long. I am really feeling bored just thinking about the new track. After all, how long can a talented and good looking cast carry a show based on bad scripts. Finally, I can go back to being my productive self that has been missing for last few months.
