Shiny,
This was my 1st show in a long long long time and I did not know any other DJ show. I am astonished by the storyline of the other show you have written.
After reading that I have this to say - we should understand for them it is a business and they are here to make MONEY and nothing else. Once we understand that, we can decide for our selves how much importance to give a show in our life. This is a show. In reality too there are some atrocious things that happen in life. By this I am not telling every is ok. What I am telling is instead of wasting our time trying to tell these people, we should use our energy in removing the real evils in our society. These people are not going to listen to us. We have the control in our hands as to how much and where and when to draw the line.
At one hand I read your frustrations and the other end, I watched this video clip. Take a look if you are interested -

Dear BeeI had tears watching this clip and wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting this. Also, your this particular post to me was the best post in, I don't know how many days. So, once again thank you.
Like bee said so many atrocities happen in real world. In reality all of us live in a fairly secure cocoon. We cannot even imagine that things like Radhika's abuse, burning, manipulations, back stabbing and all happen in greater degrees in real life.
And the saddest part is that in this world there will always always be people who will use such tragedies for their own benefit. And that is exactly what the DJs are doing. Over the past so many months I have seen us members(including myself) writing to the creatives, expecting something to happen out of it and when it does not then disappointment sets in. Writing to the creatives is great if that is what takes us to feel better. But every time they give us a bad episode, we viewers beating ourselves up emotionally is not healthy.
Again, the reality is the creatives don't care. They will continue minting money out of this show as long as they can and after that they will have other shows from which they can mint money. And its not just the DJs. This is the story for every show, these days. Most of what I have been reading on the forum for the last so many weeks is just that, cursing the creatives! And a part of me feels sad. That we are allowing this show to get to us to such an extent that we cannot think beyond the show or of the bigger picture in life.
If we do some introspection and realize that this is just a TV show and one that is not worth all the energy we put into it, we can deal with the sadness, the frustrations the show portrays much better.
I am lucky in that I have had a job where I was forced to develop mechanisms to help my mind shield from the atrocities that I see in real life.
~I have a very busy life with my kids and other work that I do. That helps me keep my mind off CB to a large extent.
~I also have some wonderful friends with whom I talk over about a bad episode and that helps me realize that the frustrations we face with CB are so silly especially when placed within the context of our lives.
~I read a lot, especially biographies where stories about other humans struggling and finding success, lifts your spirit up like nothing else. There is a beautiful book that I read recently: A long way gone: Memoirs of a boy soldier by Ishmael Beah. It is about a young boy in Africa who was used as soldier and finally ends up in the US. Such a heart rending story yet at the end you cannot help but feel so good that
goodness do triumph which is exactly the opposite of what we feel when we watch Amma's and Vishaka's atrocities.
But then again these are in general my defense mechanisms in dealing with the negative feelings and may not work for anyone else. These things help me see that life is not full of negatives like they show in CB. It also proves to me from time and again that CB is just a show. A show where the ultimate goal of every member in the show (including AviNa) is to make money and make a good life for themselves.
Each one of us need to find that something else that can take our mind off the negativity of this show. It may be drawing, reading, painting, writing poems, gardening and so many other things.
But the one thing that I know for sure will help us see that there are other things in life worth putting in our energy, our anger at injustice, our love is community services. Help a woman who was raped by offering emotional support, hug a child who has been abused by his parents and has never known how special a hug is, hold a woman's hand who has been beaten black and blue by her partner so that she feels she is not alone in this world......
and then we will realize that if we still want to watch CB then all it is worth is 30 mins from our day and not a single second more than that.Sorry guys, if I offended anyone but just had to get it off my chest. :)
