Rubina Dilaik, who rose to fame with her impressive performance in Zee TV's Choti Bahu, has made a comeback on small screen with Zee TV's new show Punar Vivah-Ek Nayi Umeed (Shashi Sumeet Productions).

In a conversation Rubina talks about her new show.
Firstly, why Punar Vivah? "I loved the story and my character Divya. And till now, I have received a great response from the masses. Having started my career with Zee TV, it is my privilege to work with them again. When Sumeet Sir (Mittal) gave me a narration, I was stumped and immediately gave my nod.

He told me that he always kept me in his mind while writing the character. The show has a very strong storyline. However, Punar Vivah-Ek Nayi Umeed has no connection or comparison with the earlier Punar Vivah franchise," she replies.

Talking about her character, she shares, "It is the love story of my character Divya and Raj (Karan V Grover). Divya is a career oriented woman and due to family pressures and consequent tiffs, the couple part ways. After ten years, Divya has turned out to be a TV actress and wants Raj to return in his life. But there will be a big twist when she will learn that Raj has got married to Sarita (Srishti Rode). Due to family pressure Raj was forced into marrying Sarita and could not justify his married life."

"Till now I have got an overwhelming feedback from the audience and hope people like me the same the way they do now."

All the best... Rubina!!

First glimpse of divya:

Last scene of divya

Rubina was so incredible as divya she was said to be the main lead from the start and was told the story will revolve around her character was so excited to see her in this ! Was shocked when they suddenly changed the story and divya was sidelined and only shown for few minutes and sometimes not even in the whole episode. Rubina looked so beautiful and was simply amazing in this character 😊

Thanks to all who supported her from the start and even when she quit she must have been glad to see her fans supporting her decision 👏

Now the show will be ending this week and i was thinking if only they would have gone with the story of divya and the show would have been more successful well glad rubina didn't stay in the show and made the right decision !

Feeling sad about what happened with divya's character so just remembering the memories

Share your memories of rubina as divya ? 😃

Radevno1fan,
you covered everything about Divya, wonderful ,
Rubina did a great performance even in limited time period, wish her character was given more footage, I guess the writers must have been rushed & that must have lost their link to connect Divya story...but am glad that she had that chance for acting for another character...
I love all characters which she has played so far, all are different, not the same...& love her character as Jeannie...we need to put more comments on her profile & on her twitter of her & her show, JAJ,...which she deserves & to bring up her number on her profile...
thanks for memories.

Rubina's role as Divya was excellent. The story started off well and ruby's portrayal was wonderful.
The reduction of ruby's screen time killed the momentum and her absence over periods showed that the storyline was losing substance and when she were gone for the long period the story became irrational.
Ruby made the right choice at that point as story and casting was not what she had agreed too. I am proud of her for standing up for her ethics and values and not staying there for money and fame.

One correction she didn't quick she made to quick by the PH. They never cared for Divya or Rubina. That we could see all. Divya as Rubina was just a cameo. PV was the must confused storyline ever that I watched. The characters were not likeable.. and not forget Sarita screaming and crying it was Sarita bahu show.. and the rest were puppets. Raj most horrible character.
Characters I like were young Raj and Divya, they were innocent and cute. Wish I could see their story instead of the Sarita drama. They should have started with young Raj and Divya. At least we could see a nice story in the beginning.Ohh well the show was confused.
I like Rubina nice acting as Divya, it was sweet and cute and not forget her pretty clothes. At the end we could see Rubina talent as mature Divya. How she told Raj hate me. That was mindblowing, and then how she told Kamla off.
