Thanks for sharing the picture. Wonder whether this was taken while shooting for Sita picking up Shiva's bow. Since this show is primarily on Mahadev, they might show Ramayan through Siva's eyes than the actual Ramayan itself and I will be happy if they show Valmiki's version of Sita than Tulsidas's version modified by Sagar's crying me a river one,
@Angie when Mahadev first started on TV I liked the execution of the show and found it a bit different to the other mythological shows that I have watched on TV. I did some some searches on the people involved in the creative aspects of the show and realised that this show is inspired by the works of Dr. Devdutt Pattnaik. He has written quite a few books on mythology, Mahabharat and the different Gods and Goddesses including Shiva, Vishnu, hanuman and also Durga. I haven't read his books but did read some portions from his books that are available online and also read his interviews. It seems that he usually gives a different interpretation to how these stories are normally propagated. Interestingly he is also a consultant with Star India regarding story development. Since he has written his own interpretation of Mahabharat , I am wondering whether he will also be involved with that show or not. I liked whatever I could find on the internet regarding his version of Mahabhartah. It's called Jaya and it seems that is more of the spiritual journey and victory of the characters than the simplistic victory of good over evil as is normally depicted in these epics. Infact according to him Pandavas winning over Kauravs cannot be only explained in the simplistic terms of good winning over evil. There is another way to look at it ...that of Pandavas who were willing to change and overcome their fears and the Kaurav's who clung on to their desires and were not willing to let go. Krishna was merely a teacher but how much a student (Pandavas and Kaurav's) learn from a teacher does not depend only on the teacher, it also depends on the student. Long time back I had heard another interpretation of the "Yada yada dharmaysa" shlok where it deals with God coming to earth. That reminded me of a different interpretation of Mahabharat that I had liked when I heard it long time back. That time I was told that maybe it is too simplistic to think that God actually comes down on earth...maybe it is more to do with human beings listening to their inner consciousness (the God within us) and take steps to face evil and win over it. Our conscious always tells us the right path but we usually do not listen because we are too involved with our emotions, dreams and desires but when we choose to follow our conscious thoughts and let go of our dreams and desires then the God who is within us rises to guide us to the right path...but the choice rests with us. That to me has been the main essence of Mahabharat.
