Deepavali and Lakshmi Puja: Deepavali i is the festival of Laxmi, the Goddess of prosperity and wealth. The day of Lakshmi-Puja falls on the dark night of Amavasya. It is believed that Goddess Laxmi visit everyone during Diwali and brings peace and prosperity to all. On the night of Diwali
"Lakshmi-Pujan" is performed in the evenings. A traditional Pujan is performed after sunset in all the homes. On Diwali night, little clay lamps are lit in the home. What is the significance of lighting a lamp? It is because darkness represents ignorance, and light is a metaphor for knowledge. Therefore, lighting a lamp symbolizes the destruction, through knowledge, of all negative forces- wickedness, violence, lust, anger, envy, greed, bigotry, fear, injustice, oppression and suffering.
Relation to CB: In today's episode, it is the day of Deepavali and Radhika is lighting the deeya's.(symbolic of not only removing the darkness in the house but also the darkness that is the minds of the people of PB regarding Barkha). Then Dai tells that this puja should be done by Dev's wife Radhika and to which Dev agrees. Then he walks up to Radhika, picks up the Aarti taali containing aarti (light), kumkum and haldi (all the symbols of Suhaag) and hands it over to his "Patni", his Suhagan and the Grah Lakshmi of his house.Just as Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth, prosperity and splendour, when she deserts a person, he is considered to have lost his Shree and is reduced to a sorry state. Similarly a true wife is euphemistically called GrihLakshmi, the goddess of domestic prosperity. All the adhikaar of patni, including adhikaar on Dev belonged to Radhika which was stolen by Barkha by hoodwinking Dev and other members of the house.
So, I think that was a good scene where a pati, returning the adhikaar of a Patni to not only do the puja in the house by giving her the aarti ki taali, but to me, it was also symbolic of returning her suhaag ki nishaani...This is just a small step, but to undertake any journey, most important is taking the first step...and I think a husband has taken that step towards his wife, even if it is a baby step...
