Zee touches a new low

GEC ratings take a dip, Star Plus maintains top rank

Star Plus and Sony take a small dip, ratings for Colors and Zee TV plummet by 8 points

Star Plus registered 289 GRPs for Week 39 as per TAM's recentreports targeting HSM CS 4+ yrs. Though the channel's ratings went down by three points from the last week, it still maintains its rank at the top. Sony further narrows the gap with Star Plus by registering 270 (271) GRPs.

Ratings for Colors at 211 (219) and Zee TV at 176 (184) have gone down by eight rating points in this week.

SAB registered 123 (124) GRPs while Imagine TV experienced a gain of three rating points with 78. Star One registered 39 (43) GRPs and Sahara One 33 (31) GRPs.

Star Utsav gained two points at 27 while DD1's ratings went down by 29 points to close at 17. Zee Smile registered 4 (3) GRPs.

So the ratings have dipped further? No wonder. Almost majority of the ZEE shows are not doing well. Acc. to the article, even PR is out of TOP 5 however in the chart posted above, its there. But even if that is counted ZEE only has a single show to boast of whereas other channels have more than 2-3 shows!

Hope they start giving some importance to the quality of the show! TRP's are surely important but they must have heard...slow and steady wins the race. Eg. BALH...the show didn't start off quite well...it got average ratings...but since the story is nice and well drafted and presented with cute moments, the show picked up slowly. Sony people didn't make any severe changes in the show just to get quick TRP's rather let the story unfold in its own pace. Zee too could have used this formula for CB (and most of their stories) and could have let the story go in its own pace rather than introducing weird twists for somehow getting more ratings! Infact CB started with quite good ratings but since it was a peak cricket season, ratings do dip sometimes...however ZEE couldn't bear it and they brought the Rohan-Rads marriage track in a rushed manner, scrapping all potential romance scenes between Dev-Rads...scrapping the college scenes etc. Hadn't it been for Avinash and Rubina, whose chemistry has already found place in people's heart...the show would have never managed to get even this much rating. Because if it were some new actors, the chemistry must be established first, people would need to connect to the characters first etc. Also if we see audience started drifted away slowly. Almost everyone was there in first 3 weeks...then after Rohan-Rads marriage, the ratings dipped some more...in the range of 1.8. Then slowly, slowly ratings went on dipping as the new tracks unfolded. As if people wanted to see this show, but the quality was forcing them not to!

This has led to to downfall of ZEE...mainly our CB and all our FANS' hopes associated with CB2 :(
