Misti, the fire may be metaphoric in a negative sense, because it sure Barka premedite and hide something, as for example, getting power, adulation her by society, as the high priest's wife,and, little by little, the removal of Dev or at worst, her establishment in Dev's bed as a full wife. In my opinion, she will try to usurp Radhika's place in family in all respects.
However, I do not like Barka, as a character. Many people when they reach high up, to power, stepping over the feelings of people, make compromises, become selfish, greedy and inhumane. That will become Barka.
