Our very good family friend's recently divorced daughter got engaged to a good young man who is single. We were very happy, & I gave the good news to another friend. She told me she already knew, bec the boy's aunt was not happy as his nephew's fiancee is a divorced girl & what will society say.So my main aim to write about this is we as society have double standard. If it is a divorced man, even with kids, we prefer a single woman as his wife, but for a divorced girl, we as a society make it impossible for her to marry a decent single man.
Here I am writing about us as society who mends or breaks a back. We all have a fear of society one way or other. We always try to adopt our lives as norms of society, try to avoid the unpleasant reactions from society. Society punishes & pardons too.
Dev did what he did why he did was instant fear of society's wrath on Rd, his wife. That fear was instilled in him by Padma about Rd to be outcasted by society. Dada put that fear in Padma...Pandit put that fear in Dada...& we as society put that fear in pandit, we are to be blamed. We as society, includes Pandit, Dada, & Padma who makes the rules & regulations in the name of relegion.
The first scenes of Friday episode, when Dev declared Rd as his wife, & the reaction of society that is US, reflects the true picture ugly side of us as society. When he was being prepared to be Rp, his aim was to declare Rd as his wife, but when the time came he suddenly remembered Padma's tormenting prediction, he forgot everything, at that time he as huaband wanted to protect his wife from harm & it is natural. He is a very wise & when he closed his eyes, he must be preparing himself to face consequences of aftermath. When fear grips you to protect your loved ones, you do not see right or wrong.
That crowd represents us as society & we do point finger towards accused, & we do have tendency of punishing the accused without giving the chance of proving them innocent...And many innocent lives are being destroyed on the misconception of what will society's reaction & punshinment would be if this or that happens?...
