After a while, radhika opened her eyes and realized their position. She slowly tried to get out of his hold. He realized and allowed her, but he had his hand around her waist.they were watching into each other's eyes.dev slowly cupped radhika's face.feeling his touch, her cheek burned as the blood rushed to her cheeks. She looked down. Dev saw her shyness and smiled so cutely. He moved his hand from her cheeks and and gently rose her face so that her gaze could meet his. Unknowingly, their faces where coming closer. When they were 2cm apart, radhika closed her eyes. Their lips where coming closer. Suddenly, they heard clapping. They turned their heads to the direction where the sound came from. There, they saw amrita, shahid, deepika and ranbir approaching them, clapping. Radev, felt awkward and immediately let go of each other. Their friends smiled.
"Great way to pull a move," shahid said to dev.
Radhika looked down shyly.
"love birds, sorry to interrupt but you have to go and perform," deepika said.
"Okay wait, were you spying on us?" dev asked.
"No!" amrita protested.
"We were just silently looking from a distance," deepika continued.
"Very funny," radhika said.
"I know, anyway, you two have to go and dance," she continued. Radev smiled and made their way down.when they came down, they saw everyone staring at them. Radev felt weird. they made their way to their smiling family. They looked at each other confused.
"Why are you all smiling?" radhika asked.
"Because, it's your birthday and my little girl is growing up." Shastriji said.
"I understand that, but papa, you know that you cannot lie to me and I know that you all are hiding something from me," she said.
"We're not hiding anything rads," vivek said.
"Okay, then tell me one thing, why are people staring at us?" he asked pointing at rads and himself.
"Am, bbbecause,.. you and radhika have to go and dance, so go," mirnali said as she pushed them towards the stage.
They were feeling awkward. Everyone was staring at them. They looked at each other. Dev gave her the 'I don't want to do this look. Radhika gave him the 'don't worry' look. The music began to play and they assumed position. The music was nice and slow. They were looking into each others' eyes. They didn't know when the music stopped. The applause of the audience brought them back to reality. Radhika immediately got shy. When they were coming of the stage, one of radhika's friends stopped them.
"congratulations and happy birthday radhika," she said. Radev looked at each other confused.
"thanks, but why are you saying congratulations archana?"
"you'll see,"she said and went back to what she was doing.
Radev looked at each other, but didn't bother with it. Before they reached their families, they kept getting congratulation wishes. When they reached their families, they were really confused.
"am… why…is everyone congratulation me and dev?" rads asked.
"we don't know why," vishali said with a tinge of laughter. Radev looked at each other and gave their families the 'I don't believe you so you better tell me the truth' look.
"O, look, I have to go and talk," mirnali said as she went to take the mike.
"wait…..what?" dev said.
" you'll see," vivek said.
The lights went off and one light focused on mirnali.
"good night ladies and gentlemen," everyone turned to face her ,"am, yeah.. hope you are enjoying yourselves. We've just seen a wonderful dance by two best friends, dev and radhika. We had other dancers, but, unfortunately, they weren't ready. So, sorry, but we have a very important announcement to make," dev and radhika held hands and looked at each other with urgent looks. They looked at mirnali.
"yeah, as I was saying, after serious thought, my family and radhika's family, well, radhika's family is like my family, anyway, we have decided to get radhika married," mirnali said with a smile.
Radev couldn't believe what just happened. They looked at each other with unhappy faces and gripped ach other hands tighter. Everyone applauded. Tears began to roll daon radhika's cheeks. The scene ended on radev faces.
