"Welcome back samrat" Veer sir said shaking Samrat's hand.
"samrat.." Samrat could not makeout who yelled out his name as he was covered by the hawks hugging him.
"Im going to assign you all your next mission" Veer said in a matter of fact tone."there are reports of illegal admittance of arms and ammunition into our country.your work is to track the routes,the ppl behind them and their motives..I hope you ppl will do a good job this time too..now get going" he dismissed all of them
Samrat felt elated to be back in the base.He never had this feeling before.with sam catching his arm and walking beside him, he felt as if he truly belonged here.
"Hey guys..how abt a pizza before kicking off the new mission?" Sameera asked looking at Samrat.
"Wow..mazaa aagaya." Farhan was greedily gulping down the pieces of Pizza."abhi..mujhe lagtha hain ki hume party karni chaahiye.." he said in middle of his important work.
"Party?kal hi toh humne.." abhi looked puzzled.
"Woh sab ke saath tha na..kyun na ab hum sirf boys ki ek party rakhe..drinks..disco..ladkiyan.."Farhan opened his mouth imagining happily but immediately shut it with a squeal as Tanvi hit him on his feet with hers.
"Tum abhi in sab cheezon ke liye chote ho farhan..grow up first" Isha added smiling.
"Abhi ab toh party honi hi chaahiye" farhan made an offended face at isha.
"Teek hain ..teek hain..lekin meri ithni acchi kismat kahaan ki main doosri ladki ko dhekh paao? Sameera mere aankh nikaal dhegi" abhi replied winking at sameera.
"Accha..toh tumhara kehne ka ye matlab hain ki main tumhe apni ghulam banaake rakhthi hoon?"
"Haan..its obvious yaar" Farhaan said adding to the fire.
Abhi was eyeing Sameera's reactions carefully.he did not mean to offend her.
"Teek hain..aaj se tum aajaad..for 30 days..you can be with who ever you want,do what ever you want to..the same applies to me also..we are not answerable to each other...lets see who misses the other the most after one month!"
"Sam..tum mazaak ko seriously le rahi ho..chill" samrat tried to ease the situation.
"No samrat..i have thought abt this.they say that relationships grow stronger when distance grows.i have put our relationship to this test..lets see how it fares..waise bhi mujhe patha hain ..abhi dus din mein mere paas dhaudthaa hua aayega..dhekhlena"Sameera smiled.
"Me ?? ..no way..tum mere bagair ek din bhi nahin reh sakthi..dekhlenge hum..30 days" abhi showed a thumbs up to sameera.
"Guys..i dont think this is right.." tanvi started off worried but was soon cut off by Farhan.
"so all the guys ..the party is on..this saturday!"
They all were soon standing in front of Veer sir in the office who was going through some papers seriously.He turned to all of them and said "mujhe tum logon ke performance reports thayyaar karni hain..Pehle tum logon ko ek officer war tactics and intelligence information decoding mein train karega aur phir woh mere saath milke tum logon ko assess karega"
"Lekin sir is training ki kya zaroorat hain?" isha asked.
"Woh tum logon ko jaan bhi lega..uska yeh maan na hain ki defence ka har koi ek war tactic mein accha hotha hain lekin use us baath ki patha bhi nahin hothi..tum mein chupi huyi hunar ko woh baahar nikaalega..mujhe pathaa hain tum log best ho lekin mujhe best ka bhi superlative degree chaahiye..woh ek gante mein yahaan aayega aur tum log use base ki ek tour karaana..Sameera and tanvi..i want you to double check the condition of all our MIGs and base..i do not want to give him a chance of criticising us..lets all assemble back in one hour"
"Yaar..this inspection guy looks like a khadoos..i bet he wears glasses and with anger on his nose..some how i feel he is going to make our lives miserable..abhi mujhe bachaao yaar" farhan added dramatically.
Four of them shared a good laugh.Abhi was eager to meet this guy whom Veer sir regards so much.Some how he did not like this guy at all.May be he would be proven wrong once he meets him..abhi shrugged off his thoughts and got back to setting all the mission records right.
"Welcome Karan..meet my team...the Hawks" Veer Sir introduced him to them.
Farhan opened his mouth and stared.the person standing in front of him was in total contrast to what he had imagined.This guy looked handsome,young and ofcourse without glasses.
"Hai..karan..Karan Ahuja.." he said extending his hand.
"God!!" farhan said in shock shaking his hand.
"Your name is very unique ,God" karan smiled at him easing the situation.
After the introductions were over Veer sir left karan and hawks with the orders to show him around.Everybody was at ease with karan and abhi felt he had been wrong in judging a person even before meeting him.
"Sam tumhe kya lagthaa hain..yeh naya bandha kaisa hoga?" tanvi asked sameera.
Sameera who was examining the condition of the control circuitry was standing on the top of a high ladder which was fixed vertically to the ground.She was holding the ladder with one hand and leaning over the MIG with test equipments in the other.
"Woh kaisa bhi ho hume kya lena dhena?" she replied.
"Nahin Sam,agar woh handsome aur cool nikala toh bahuth mazaa ayega na?"
"Kise? tumhe?"Sameera smiled mischieveously.
"I will not mind agar tum bhi try karna chaaho toh..waise bhi tumhe abhi ne azaad kar hi diya hain toh.." Tanvi stopped in middle seeing the people approaching her.
Karan seemed amused by the stiffness with which tanvi was standing and was much more amused seeing the posture of the girl on the top of the ladder.Tanvi had a weird feeling that the look karan had on his face was that of fondness not the least amusement.
"Thank God Tanvi!! humne ye fault pehle hi dekhliya varna inspection ke vaqt hum problem mein hothe..zara woh screwdriver pass karna plz.." Sameera stretched her hand below without turning her head.
Karan quietly climbed up the ladder taking the screw driver from Tanvi's hand and handed it to Sameera.the total team stood in silence unable to understand where this was leading to.
"Lo..hogaya..warna woh hamaari dhimaag khaatha.." sameera was handing down the screwdriver.
Karan who was now climbing down the ladder stopped midway and replied "lekin main vegetarian hoon".
Sameera was so startled that she not only dropped the screwdriver but also turned around to see the person forgetting that she was standing on the ladder.Suddenly she felt the pull of gravity and she realised she was falling down as she lost her balance.She shut her eyes tight not wanting to look at the ground that was very far beneath.She could hear all the hawks screaming out her name.
She did not hit the ground.she felt suspended in mid air as if tied by something..no as if held by someone.She groped in front of her unable to open her eyes.She put her arms around the person's neck and held tightly slowly recovering from the shock.
"Sam are you ok?" he whispered into her ear making her startle once again.
Sameera smiled and rested her head against his neck.He could not balance the weight of two people on one hand as the other was against her waist.He looked down and saw the floor.it was a safe distance .They would not get hurt even if he took a chance.Holding Sameera in a safe position he tried to step down.But his hand gave away and both of them fell down on the ground.
Though he was relieved that Sameera was safe,Abhi did not like the way Karan had held Sameera by her waist breaking her fall and now was beneath her caressing her hair.He immediately rushed to her and helped her up.Farhan helped Karan up.
"Sam are you ok?" Abhi asked anxiously.Sameera smiled in reply turning to look at Karan.
Farhan stepped in middle of Karan and Sameera and made the introductions.
"Pleasure meeting you Sameera" Karan smiled.
The glint in his eyes did not go unnoticed by Tanvi.
