NB, I think she is a bride and her husband gets killed on the wedding day itself. Rajasthani brides may not wear mangalsutras. The bangles are definitely being removed because her husband has died ... that's a tradition in parts of Rajasthan, especially those women in black removing the bangles and ornaments of the widow.

I had wondered the same, then thought may be the wedding was not fully done, pheras over yet to tie the mangal sutra and trouble strikes in between.. Or may be its not compulsory to wear mangal sutra.. I mean would they make all child brides and all wear it?? Not that that's the case here..

guys my interpretation of the promo

Her husband dies, she rans away from in laws house as she was forced to live the life of a widow and follow the customs, while running she come across Ashish near the border an he arrests her thinking she is from other side of the border😳

Thank you, Sunara !!! Love this ... Colors has started the publicity blitz of the show with a bang! The release of the first look pis, the SBB, their Twitter feed is flooded with Sanaya and Rang Rasiya, and the promo is absolutely spectacular, both Sanaya and Ashish are amazing.

Love this article too ... sounds like the story will be told from the POV of Paro ... am so looking forward to that! It's going to be gut wrenching, Sanaya has this ability to make her audience feel every bit of her pain with her ... be ready for a rocky ride!

Those ladies in black are widows and they are forced to live a life of seclusion away from mainstream society without basic human facilities.. So its more like she is being inducted into such group.. But why is ML pointing the gun at her head and he is an officer so is something like like the dead groom was a traitor or doing something illegal and bride gets implicated after his death and officer decides to persecute her..

The bangle scene reminded me of Dimple Kapadia in Rudaali..

In Rajasthan there are communities who are professional mourners, they wear black and go to funerals to mourn and earn living. The film Rudaali is about them.

You are so right, the moment I saw the promo, I thought of Rudaali too, the desert, the mourners, Sanaya's expressions...that film had great music, hoping this show does too which will enhance the scenes and intensity more.

I like this.. And thakur may be part of the in laws trying to persecute her..

But somehow i feel its going to be a lot more convoluted..

Sanaya,just gorgeous with a myriad of expressions on her face just in a frame of few seconds ,as was Ashish,already seeing the potential he has 👏 WOW.

These two are going to scorch our TV screen!!

Already waiting for more Promos !! 😛 Today was just the best day ever <3

The Costumes,backdrop,picturisation,everything was just wonderful. Its got me, hooked,line and sinker

Yeah Rudaali was about these mourners, they are also segregated from the society.. In fact its something like they are not even supposed to be seen around normal people.. Rudaali was one of the rare movies which made me cry.. And Sanaya's expressions with this backdrop, tissues wont be enough..

And i'm happy they are taking up a social issue.. One that needs some support..

@ bold- the promo had great background score, i mean a heart wrenching one.. Hopefully they keep it up..

may be the Thakur is her brother in law, who was lusting after her and she also ran from him in addition to sati custom
