Sanaya Irani's character Chhanchhan was said to be on the lines of Rekha's in Khoobsurat. What's more Supriya Pathak played Chhanchhan's mother-in-law reminiscent of her mother Dina Pathak's role in the Rekha-starrer. Of course, there was a difference in the characterisations but broadly it fitted into that category. However, the serial despite starring Sanaya, who was fresh from the success of Iss Pyaar Ko Naam Doon did not click with the viewers. Fingers were pointed at model-turned-actor Farhan Khan, who made his TV debut with the show. There was no chemistry between the lead pair. Within a couple of months, he was replaced by Anuj Sachdeva. Even as they were building up on their romance, the serial dipped lower on the charts and the channel decided to bid adieu to it.
