First I signed up with Sony for Sanaya only From first episode I was disappointed , I still watched but as Int viewer I am not counted, A few hundred fans on Indian Forums do not make TRPS.

Then I saw do dil and IPK re run started , I watch them just read Reviews daily and go on line and just watch sanuj scenes off screen masti thats it. I cancelled sony and took Life ok.
Just because I adore Sanaya I am not blind to her faults , and as a celeberity audience has a right to comment or crtisize as they want her to Succeed.
I hate all sas bahu Indian soaps can not bear to watch the jarring sarrees make up screaming
un natural scenes nothing new was never an Ekta fan.
Its Sanayas desicion but most of the audience not the 50 adoring ones, who are on IF daily,
wanted to watch her in a hot love story not a sas bahu one as Khusi she was an all time Favourite , her chemistry was natural but wrong hero choise in the start for CC then poor story audience are not coming back, as well incorrect timing of show.
If I was Sanaya I would look at my choises I am turing 30 have tried every thing now right role choise with PH/Channel is needed missed chance for JDJ admire her honesty but in todays world she needs to watch her foot in the mouth as she has stepped in some toes.
Its great she experimented now next 3 years she needs to define what and where do I see myself.
Then make the correct Choise for Realty show /Soap/ anchor what ever you want to do.

As a viewer we all have right to choose what we want to watch as entertainment and how we spend our time. We have all made our choices some enjoy Chhanchhan others not so much.

Every actor signs a project hoping it will connect with the audience and succeed, there is a large percentage of audience for family dramas and saas bahu shows and that that is why these shows get maximum TRPs. Chhanchhan is not able to connect with the audience and hence low TRPs, we can speculate about causes and that is a separate discussion. Sanaya needs to widen her audience base and not limit herself to viewers who enjoy love stories (you are right few people on IF do not determine the audience taste). Just because one worked does not mean she has to repeat it for the rest of her career and for how long? What is the guarantee that if she had chosen another intense love story it would be a sure shot hit? Before Chhanchhan was announced there were already articles saying Sanaya is mostly doing love stories. So, she is damned if she does and damned if she does not.

More then this, I would agree with your post yesterday that script and execution is important. Once the story finds acceptance among viewers, it succeeds. Sanaya's previous show had so many logic defying elements in it, yet once the audience got enthralled logic did not matter, this is the same in most successful daily soaps. None of them can really boast of realism or logic or lack of bloopers or loopholes. All have them, but once a soap finds audience, these things are ignored.

Another issue is how can anybody say what will click beforehand. Optimystix is an experienced PH and has delivered successful shows before and on SONY. So, when Sanaya signed the project it was with a good PH, in a central role where she shares screen space with someone like Supriya Pathak. She signed the same project that a talented actor like Supriyaji signed, so obviously they both saw some potential in the concept. No actor will waste their time on projects that do not appeal to them. In daily soaps actors don't get bound scripts like movies, I think they get a broad concept and few initial tracks, the rest keeps getting tweaked based on feedback. We have already seen so many changes in this show. So, nobody can predict destiny of a show. Did Sanaya know IPK will be such a success when she signed it?

However, I don't think one project not working will limit Sanaya's career now. She has established herself as a talented, hardworking and dedicated actress in the industry. Again, turning 30 is not the end of the world for actresses nowadays and she can continue to have a long fruitful career with her talent and hard work. No matter what each individual fan of her's wants, it is her life and career and her choices to make as she is also bearer of the consequences, not fans. Infact, my guess is she is thinking long term with her choices, if she cocoons herself within romantic genre, then she will be pigeon holed by the industry and how long can she continue. By proving her versitality and eagerness to try new things she has possibility of getting interesting parts, widen her audience base and stay longer in the field.

If male actors like Ram Kapoor, Ronit Roy and others can work successfully well into their 40s and beyond then why not women. These men are still doing lead roles in different genres then why not talented women actors. This is where age and gender discrimination comes in. Sanaya has already said she enjoys her work and is in this for the long haul. Even if she wants to discontinue acting it should be her choice. In this journey she will win some and lose some...I can't think of any actor or actress who never had to face failure...have you?

Like I said before, she is an adult, has been in the industry for long, and is in better position to make decisions for herself, none of us know what choices she is presented with and ultimately she is going to face the consequences -some good and some bad. Coming to her frank nature, well again that is who she is and in case she feels the need to curb it, she will because she is the one who will face the music. Some appreciate her brutal honesty and others don't, by now Sanaya would have heard from her associates about it. She is human and flawed like all of us...we are the ones who try to see perfection in celebrities which they can't live up to all the time.

So, as audience we can choose what we want to watch and why...some like love stories others family dramas, but actors cannot and should not let their popularity in one genre limit their work. Tomorrow Sanaya might do a historical or mythological show...we can decide if we want to see it or not...and you are right just because we like an actor we do not have to enjoy every show/film they do. In the same token just because we like an actor we cannot expect them to be in the kind of shows/ films which cater to our tastes always.

This is the part which i don't understand as well. You like Chanchan or not...watch it or not...its your choice as a viewer to which you have full right.

But why dictate choices to actors...let her choose what she wants to do...if she succeeds or fails ...its her decision and she will face the consequences. Every actor wants to experiment..she has repeatedly said that she is enjoying working in Chanchan. If the show is not working there are many reasons for it.

And if you put Sanaya in a love story, is there a guarantee it will work...thats possibly the mistake this PH did at the start of Chanchan. With the buzz the show created they probably thought ppl will automatically watch it and forgot all the other elements needed for a successful show.

My question for you would Sanaya be happy with repeating the same thing over & over? At the end of the day it's her choice she always said she want to do something different from any of her previous shows for those who want to see Sanaya in another passionate Intense love story then I'm sorry to say it's never going to happened it's your bad luck not hers because for now we should all know Sanaya Irani is. I'm sure next show will be another different genres.

it good to criticize n as fans we have the right to criticize r favs if we feel sumthing is not clicking wid us ...
but no fan according to me has the right to decide wat kind of work her fav star should do or at wat age she/ he should decide wat genre dey should choose

it good dat sanaya worked as gunjan n got loved by her fans ...its gr8 dat she got khushi n her popularity incresed nationally as well as internationally ...n nice dat she is getting so much support from her fans wen some of dem r not dat happy with the show n some r on cloud 9 dat sanaya picked such a show

but it is totally sanaya's choice wen n wat she should pick , if she is making a bad decision its fine she'l learn n if d decision is gr8 den its awesome ...but its her work journey n she knows how to manage her work ...wat she can do wat is her comfort level n how much her body n mind can take it

every fan should know where to draw d line

True, we can criticize content, but can't dictate terms...not that anybody is listening to our orders anyway!!

One think I know for sure...Sanaya will always pick the correct show for her.
Whether I like the show or not is my issue...not hers.
CC is not the only show I watch. It is the only Indian show I watch. True, I watch it because Sanaya is in it, also true that there are things I don't like about it...but what I like far outweighs that which I don't. I want to see how the whole joint family dynamics works out in the Borasagar family.
Lots of choices on TV. It's entertainment.
Very happy for you that you are able to move on from Sony to the other channel and watch the re-runs. Happy watching.
