So, as audience we can choose what we want to watch and why...some like love stories others family dramas, but actors cannot and should not let their popularity in one genre limit their work. Tomorrow Sanaya might do a historical or mythological show...we can decide if we want to see it or not...and you are right just because we like an actor we do not have to enjoy every show/film they do. In the same token just because we like an actor we cannot expect them to be in the kind of shows/ films which cater to our tastes always.

This is the part which i don't understand as well. You like Chanchan or not...watch it or not...its your choice as a viewer to which you have full right. But why dictate choices to actors...let her choose what she wants to do...if she succeeds or fails ...its her decision and she will face the consequences. Every actor wants to experiment..she has repeatedly said that she is enjoying working in Chanchan. If the show is not working there are many reasons for it.And if you put Sanaya in a love story, is there a guarantee it will work...thats possibly the mistake this PH did at the start of Chanchan. With the buzz the show created they probably thought ppl will automatically watch it and forgot all the other elements needed for a successful show.

Every actor signs a project hoping it will connect with the audience and succeed, there is a large percentage of audience for family dramas and saas bahu shows and that that is why these shows get maximum TRP. Chhanchhan is not able to connect with the audience and hence low TRP, we can speculate about causes and that is a separate discussion. Sanaya needs to widen her audience base and not limit herself to just people who enjoy love stories (you are right few people on IF do not determine the audience taste). Just because one worked does not mean she has to repeat it for the rest of her career and for how long? What is the guarantee that if she had chosen another intense love story it would be a sure shot hit? Before Chhanchhan was announced there were already articles saying Sanaya is mostly doing love stories. So, she was damned if she does and damned if she does not.More then this, I would agree with your post yesterday that script and execution is important. Once the story finds acceptance among viewers, it succeeds. Sanaya's previous show had so many logic defying elements in it, yet once the audience got enthralled logic did not matter, this is the same in most successful daily soaps. None of them can really boast of realism or logic or lack of bloopers or loopholes. All have them, but once a soap finds audience, these things are ignored.Another issue is how can anybody say what will click beforehand. Optimystix is an experienced PH and has delivered successful shows before and on SONY. So, when Sanaya signed the project it was with a good PH, in a central role where she shares screen space with someone like Supriya Pathak. She signed the same project that a talented actor like Supriyaji signed, so obviously they both saw some potential in the concept. No actor will waste their time on projects that do not appeal to them. In daily soaps actors don't get bound scripts like movies, I think they get a broad concept and few initial tracks, the rest keeps getting tweaked based on feedback. We have already seen so many changes in this show. So, nobody can predict destiny of a show. Did Sanaya know IPK will be such a success when she signed it?However, I don't think one project not working will limit Sanaya's career now. She has established herself as a talented, hardworking and dedicated actress in the industry. Again, turning 30 is not the end of the world for actresses nowadays and she can continue to have a long fruitful career with her talent and hard work. No matter what each individual fan of her's wants, it is her life and career and her choices to make as she is also bearer of the consequences, not fans. Infact, I think she is thinking long term with her choices, if she cocoons herself with romantic genre, then she will be pigeon holed by the industry and how long can she continue. By proving her versitality and eagerness to try new things she has possibility of getting interesting parts, widen her audience base and stay longer in the field. If male actors like Ram Kapoor, Ronit Roy and others can work successfully well into their 40s and beyond then why not women. These men are still doing lead roles in different genres then why not talented women actors. This is where age and gender discrimination comes in. Sanaya has already said she enjoys her work and is in this for the long haul. Even if she wants to discontinue acting it should be her choice. In this journey she will win some and lose some...I can't think of any actor or actress who never had to face failure...have you?Like I said before, she is an adult, has been in the industry for long, and is in better position to make decisions for herself, none of us know what choices she is presented with and ultimately she is going to face the consequences some good and some bad. Coming to her frank nature, well again that is who she is and in case she feels the need to curb it, she will because she is the one who will face the music. Some appreciate her brutal honesty and others don't, by now Sanaya would have heard from her associates about it. She is human and flawed like all of us...we are the ones who try to see perfection in celebrities which they can't live up to all the time. So, as audience we can choose what we want to watch and why...some like love stories others family dramas, but actors cannot and should not let their popularity in one genre limit their work.
