Good Post. Some of my friends who see the serial are some times irritated with Uma bens boring dialogues. The script shound be spicy for to get higher TRP. Not necessary always actors or the pair at fault.

One more thing I like in this show is that they shoot a lot outdoors and in real locations like a hotel , cafe, shop etc. it gives a real feel to the whole show ...
Lastly , like the contrast shown between the two families ... Their are a lot of suppressed desires , intrigue and unhappiness in the borsagar family which is shown in a latent way ... May become more obvious once chhanchhan marries manav and enter's their household ...

Yes, I am glad they are shooting in various locations, cuts off the monotony. ChhanChhan will not be a typical bahu, but I hope they make her more interesting, not just simple goody-two-shoes.

What is working for me

Sanaya and Supriya, without a doubt. Two excellent actresses, they're both a pleasure to watch on screen. Even though Supriya's role is fairly dark grey as of now, she is able to bring in some nuances and make it interesting. She is not the typical overbearing saas, for one thing ... she rules her bahus in a more manipulative way, and has her own sense of justice and fair play. What I find even more interesting is that she is not a doting, "my sons are wonderful" kind of mother either ... she seems to have trouble trusting everyone, her own husband and sons included.
Sanaya is a pleasure to watch, period. She lights up the screen whenever she comes on I like her character Chhanchhan a lot ... yes, she is very white as of now, but she's not the typical pious holier than thou type of heroine either ... she has her fun side, and I hope they keep that intact.

The Sarabhai family ... fun to watch, they are very real and sweet ... fun loving, teasing, progressive and open in their thoughts ... and as the show progresses, i think they will balance out the much darker and severe Borisagara family.
The DOGS ... I love watching them on screen!!!

The Borisagar family ... especially the father and sons and their relationship with Uma Ben. There seem to be many wheels within wheels there, including the court case which has just come up ... I'm looking forward to post-marriage, when these stories will start being explored one by one. The bahus so far are pretty standard TV bahus ... it will be interesting to see their reactions to Chhanchhan and vice versa. Interestingly, none of them seem the evil scheming sorts, so I guess that department is left to Uma Ben.

Manav ... he is an interesting character ... HOW I wish the actor was better 😕 ... because the character is better sketched and has more potential than most husbands of family dramas. A good actor could do a lot with this character. Liked the way Manav seems to be the only one who can manipulate his manipulative mother ... also I liked the way he saw the differences between CC's family and his own ... he sees the faults in his own family, the lack of openness, the secrecy ... He is more clear headed, he is not merely a mama's boy. I liked that he deliberately went against his mom to side with Hitesh and Purvi ... a new thing for family dramas. Waiting to see the repercussions of that one. 😉

The ensemble cast ... all are well cast and are doing well in their roles ... they have settled into character and are good to watch.

I like that there is no heavy melodrama ... it's all pretty real. The way the dowry drama was wrapped up has been good ... Hitesh and his parents accepting their mistake and re-connecting the rishta ... all without any heavy duty drama or major speeches or lectures. If they tackle more issues in this way, it will be interesting.

Like the wardrobes of all the characters, especially CC and her friends ... it's so good to see the female leads not dressed in standard uniforms of different colors!!

Now the flaws 😛
The writing does need to be tightened ... in some places they skip over essential points ... like the setting up of the cafe meeting, while elsewhere they repeat the same thing again and again ... like the family teasing CC about Manav.
Where is Purvi's father? A dialogue or two about his whereabouts, saying that Purvi has talked to him, he has spoken to Hitesh's parents ... these were required to complete the entire picture.

They need to stop the mirror image scenes of CC and Manav about each other ... especially in the very same episode. Not only are they repetitive and far too obvious, but also they show up the difference in the acting calibre of Sanaya and Farhan ... when they were both describing their dream partner, Farhan's face was BLANK, while Sanaya was all dreamy eyed and contemplative.

Background music ... I don't like the bg music for Uma Ben. I liked the whistling music for ChanMan, don't like the Are re tune for them, it gets too repetitive ... they should save that for the more romantic moments, and keep the whistling tune and the other tune they played during the dream partner scene for the usual ChanMan meetings.

Enough for today! 😆

Thank you Diya for your comments. Agree with everything you say. Uma ben is not blinded by her love for her sons, and does not use that to taunt her bahus, good catch.

It is now over a month, hopefully the production team are getting a grip on their story. The romance so far is very bland, and an ML who cannot act is not helping.

I keep getting a very 90s bollywood feel in the show, it maybe the BG music, execution, dialogues or a combination of all.

They have to be more sharp in editing, wittier dialogues and should scale down the pitch and tone of episodes.
Hope future holds good tracks and TRPs.

I agree, showviewer, the production team needs to step up their ante. The theme of the show is very contemporary, but the execution of the show doesn't give that feel ... it seems dated and more 90's in many respects. The BG music has a lot to do with it, it is jarring and too loud in many places. The dialogues are not bad, the ChhanMan scenes have good dialogues (IF ONLY that guy could say them with more feeling!!! 😕) ... they are casual, contemporary and go well with the ChhanMan relationship ... so do most of the Chhanchhan family and friends scenes ...

The Borisagar family dialogues seem more theatrical and dated. Maybe because the family itself is steeped in the Dark Ages as of now, especially the three bahus. The sons are more interesting, but we haven't seen much of them till now.

I guess we just have to wait for the marriage, for the real story to start. Hopefully the execution will improve ... the forte of this PH is not romance, and having such a bad actor as ML doesn't help at all.
