Is Umaben a lawyer?

Umaben's husband said that he doesn't want to hire a lawyer as umaben will handle his case.So is umaben a lawyer?Has she studied law?If she hasn't then how can she fight the case?I don't think a court allows a common man to fight a case.Am i right?

I think you can...the only thing is that you'd be taking a risk if you don't get a personal lawyer, otherwise I think you can represent yourself.

Any person can represent himself/herself.Even the convict can do so.But people hire lawyer for safety.

Some people who think they are smart enough to handle it on their own represent themselves.And we all know UB thinks she is the smartest.
U dont need a lawyer degree to fight for ur case.

Yes, you can. It is called pro se legal representation. Usually people self represent when they can't afford lawyers or when they feel the lawyers won't represent them well. I guess in Uma Ben's case it is the latter. 😆 Plus given that is some kind of family dispute she probably wants to keep it quiet and not involve a third person. I am not sure about India, but here in USA, some states do not allow for self representation.

That's allowed. What's a lawyer,UB can fit into any profession,she seems to be a superwoman...handling her bahus,court cases,marriages,charity,spying on her son etc etc 🤣
