Agree that good actors can rise above bad scripts and poor direction. I would keep IPK aside, because well that was mighty special, it had a certain X-factor and charm to it that is hard to pin down. Bas. Yes, even in the worst of times, it had bright spots because of the leads.
But in general if you see, even good actors can't do much with completely weirdass stories. Like Aamir Khan in a movie like Love Love Love 😆 And sometimes mediocre actors do very well with tightly written scripts. Given that replacing an actor is a big deal, I just feel that a simpler and I daresay better solution is to fix the script and execution flaws.
