I am a Sanaya fan and am watching the show because she is in it. I am not Indian but my best friend is and I watch the show with her. Her mother explains a lot of social issues/behaviors shown here. The novelty here, while not new, is that the approach is more realistic and relatable to reality. We have a liberal family and another family still living in the age old handed down family structure. My interest is in seeing how the PH shows a liberal minded, today's girl with her own principles tackle the issue of loving a man who has a mother still opposed to changes. It is also nice to see two happy people; Chhanchhan and Manav meet and fall in love. The show is light and refreshing. It's still new, let's see what happens in the future.

I like Sanaya, respect her choice of what she wants to do. I will watch the show if it continues to interest me. If it doesn't I will watch something else. But, I will still love Sanaya and follow her and wait for her next project.

Additionally, I think Chhanchhan is a confident disciplined girl with her own set of values.. She is neither an introvert nor an over zealous character. She thinks logically and approaches situations in a methodical manner. Let's see how this works when the opposing force is a mother in law. This kind of situation is faced by many young couples and families'not just Indian.

Again, not a new concept, but I like the way it is being shown here thus far and wait to see how it is shown in the future.

The real story of CC begins once CC marries into Umaben's family and the 2 strong-willed ladies and their different ideologies clash. I think the makers have very smartly planned and developed the more boring and mundane bits during IPL. Once IPL is over I can foresee a big shift in the show, with the conflict quotient of the show increasing.

However I respect your opinion, if you dont like it, you dont like it.

I'm glad in the CC forum people can express their views even if its negative without fear of bashing, reporting and biased moderation.

I hope you will start liking the show soon.

I agree with you TM,as most of us I am also die hard IPK and SARUN fan.. I also started to watch CC just for Sanaya and I can understand why she picked ChanChan character wise,as she is todays girl not same as her last Character, but the the main story the clashes of saas bahu is too outdone and not appealing to me at all. so I agree with you on that part.
It was good decision on Sanayas part to not to do love story again right after IPK, as it was a hell of a show and the chemistry is unbeatable and not re creatable..it was like once in a lifetime jodi .

I like Sanayas character and her family but I also think Sanaya sometimes try too hard as Chanchan to look different than Khushi (characters portray wise) but I give her the benefit of doubt. Acting wise the way she played Khushi was perfect, In Chanchan I don't see her best performance, still room for improvement, but I think that would be PH and directors blame, as the show has poor execution.

the things that I HATE about CC is UB's family and three bahus and her behavior and I also hate it how they use Bollywood songs in chanchan and Manav scenes, it looks so tacky and cheesy..no originality. Sanayas last shows amazing background score and music played big part in the success of show and the chemistry..but I think only SP makes their show have unique music, Sony been always cheesy music wise :)

IMO, this show is not for everyone, IPk was the only show that I was hooked and loved, I know I am not gonna like any other show like that..and I am not a big fan of Indian dramas anyways, IPK was exception :), , so for me Chancahn is just tp kinda show not something that can make me crazy or makes me wait to watch the next episode..I still catch the show once in a while only for Sanaya and forward the bahu scenes :)

Oh I should have realized this thread is the perfect opportunity for some people to overpraise Sanaya's previous show. Don't overdo it, IPK wasn't perfect. People love to overhype IPK now that its over but it had its massive share of problems too...from the inconsistent storylines to inconsistent acting to pathetic wardrobe/budget and embarrassing off-screen drama.

At least CC is stress-free, can afford outdoor locations and a better wardrobe, everyone seems to be having a blast shooting for it. The story and acting can definitely improve but it needs time. The acting on IPK in the beginning was not very good either...it took time for the actors (especially the male lead) to get into their characters. Once they nailed it, the story and ratings increased. It didn't have high ratings from the beginning, Chhan Chhan needs time too.

Khushi was a slightly crazy, over the top but fun-loving girl. There was a lot of great things about that character that must have appealed to Sanaya at the time, especially since she had just played the shy and reserved Gunjan.

But now that she's done a character that's loud like Khushi, she needs to do something different. And Chanchan is just a normal, average girl who loves her dogs and has strong values. I see nothing wrong being a normal girl.

And this hasn't become the typical saas-bahu soap, at least not yet! Although Umaben is quite negative, they try to show her doings in a different light. Her comic timings with Himanshu are really funny.

It's more about the story of how a modern girl stands up for what she believes is right and tries to change things in society that are wrong today, like dowry. And there's a little love story along the way with a lot of cute dogs too. So I'm not complaining just yet! Give it some more time.

the only complaint i am having right now that this serial actually dont have strong story line.. but its just an daily episode .. daily activities of all the characters .. the major happenings will come when chanchan will enter her MIL's house .. until then its a simple serial.. and Im enjoying it only for Sanaya and the lightness it brings .. I always have a smile while watching it .. ...

Totally agree with you..
IN BOLD: That's what I wanted to highlight mentioned..
And here I'm getting some foolish comments from few people that 'this is not a love story... bla bla..."..

The TRP of 0.9 is a solid proof.
They are trying to sell a show in the name of Sanaya.
But for a show to run more than 1 year they need at least a good script.
But the script of this show is horrible.
And the direction sucks big time.

That's what was my POINT..
The show is selling only because Sanaya is there... the story has nothing to interest people.. Hopefully things will change, it's very new after all..
I'm watch it only for HER..

yes... true...

But we are getting a hint though... the moral will say "how to handle a saas like that in a polite way and change the old-custom if the society that is horribly wrong!!!"..

👏👍🏼..
But the only thing in which I disagree: If you read carefully, I never mentioned any acting flaws here; my post was regarding the storyline all along!!
And as you said, it needs time most likely.. So, keeping my fingers crossed...!!
