King Hamlet Trailer

Context: This documentary, directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Elvira Lind (Oscar Isaac's wife), documents the preparation for the Public Theatre's production of Hamlet in New York.

The project was filmed between 2016 and 2017 but is only now premiering. During the preparation period, Oscar learned of his mother's terminal cancer and his partner's pregnancy on the same day. His mother later died, he married the following month, and their first son was born the month after that. At the time, they decided not to release the film.

It is poignant; he looked so excited at the beginning, but by the end, he appeared despondent.
