Its not about proving him Muslim...Wankhede probably got selected in the SC/ST quota in the exam...and if he is a Muslim he can't use that quota.....I think that is what Malik is trying prove.

Because he was born a Muslim and remained that for a while at least since he had a nikah. But he pretended to be Hindu and got himself a fraud SC certificate and said he is Dalit. This would have helped him get in colleges and his job much more easily. But you can't just convert and call yourself backward caste. It's against the law.

The only thing, besides proving that he’s a Muslim, I can think of is if he didn’t divorce the first wife legally… cause if now he’s pretending to be a Hindu while being married to two women, it’s a crime


But I think it’s mainly to prove that he’s a Muslim who used fake backward caste certificate to secure this position as an honest officer
