This is so shocking. May his soul rest in eternal peace. A personal favourite of mine of Bappi Ji's work.

RIP Bappi Da.

He composed beautiful songs and some catchy numbers.

Shocking news.

I had no idea.

May his soul rest in peace. Bappi Da had a unique voice and he has given Bollywood some really great numbers over the years.

He'll always be cherished.❤️

"Chhed Ke Dil Ke Toote Taaron Ko Ab Tum Uski Sada Se Darte Ho,

Khud Hi Toofan Uthayein Hain Tumne Aur Khud Hi Hawa Se Darte Ho?"

Madan Mohan and Kaifi Azmi is a duo that has special place in my heart. They've done wonders together, but Heer Ranjha has been a different kind of masterpiece altogether. From cinematography to costumes to lyrics and dialogues of course, it is something else totally. Even though I am not much of a fan of both the leads they've done a very decent job.

This was Chetan Anand's first film in colour but the way he has used colours in depicting emotions of Heer throughout the movie by giving her mellow / plain coloured dresses in the beginning before she falls in love with Ranjha and then making her wear bright dresses as her emotions progress is a different kind of excellence.

Two scenes though will forever be etched in my heart - a) The one where Heer defies her parents and has an argument with the Kaazi & b) The scene of her Bidaai where she speaks something so powerful that the words hit you off for a moment.

[To Her friend]

The dialogue : "Aye...Roti hai tu? Muskura Dil-Jali. Dekh Kis Dhoom se Meri Maiyyat Chali"

[To her father]

The second diagoue : "Aao Mere Janaaze Ko Kaandha tho do. Kabr Tak apni Beti ko Pahuncha Tho do."

Prann was another thing that took the movie to another level.

Movie : Heer Ranjha (1970)

Lyrics : Kaifi Azmi

Music Director : Madan Mohan

Singers : Mainly Lata Ji and Rafi Saab

The first link is a scene from the movie.
