no wonder Salman shifted from Manshinde to Anand Desai in this case 🤣
by the way, I was curious to know from people living in countries like USA and UK, how does the authorities and government manage the drugs usage there ? Is anything illegal ?? since judging from comments on main forum, it seems USA is full of legally consuming hard drugs on a regular basis.....if yes, then how do they get any work done ??
I have worked with a US based vfx studio and though they had the freedom to drink Alcohol post 7 (office used to close at 5.30 and most artist would leave for the day) and on friday, they could consume it the whole day while working.........but people from my team who has visited also shared that nobody was that drunk that they would misbehave and couldn't work........ but noone every mentioned drugs, esp hard drugs
I think in my state people have to have a medical license to do marijuana. But there is huge talk about decriminalizing it on a national level. Because marijuana is less dangerous than alcohol. It can not cause you to get sick or wake up with a hang over the next day. No one dies from too much marijuana but people can die from too much alcohol usage. Weed can actually have some health benefits if used in moderation. There are only a few studies it makes you dumb. Some studies say it can be good for the brain. But there is a lot of politics that went on in America that India does not have. For example, "the war on drugs" basically had a racist undertone. It locked up mostly the black and hispanic population when white people do marijuana at equal rates and are hardly ever held accountable. What did they do with these imprisoned populations? They forcefully made them do free labor like helping out with the fires in California right now. Can you imagine poor imprisoned kids being made to do that? It basically kept slavery alive but in the prison system.
Now the sympathy has seemed to increase because drug usage has seemed to have spread to the white population. Especially the uneducated white population or the "blue collar white workers" who were dependent on factory jobs in America at one point. Now that bad trade deals like NAFTA or Permanent Trade Relations with China shipped those jobs oversees and they don't have many alternatives without at least having a college degree. So their dying abusing much more dangerous drugs called opioids. I think the simplest solution would be to just implement universal healthcare just like every other developed nation. Thus if anyone develops mental health issues due economic stress they can see a doctor for free. Earlier it was just black and hispanic people who were discriminated against when applied for jobs or to colleges but even though they put them straight in jail without an iota of empathy.
And all the taxpayer money the states have to use putting up new prisons since we have more people in jail than any other country now, including China. We basically make up 5% of the population and 25% of the worlds population has taken away funding from education. We once upon use to have free state universities. Massachusetts and California has some of the best state universities. And that actually kept drug usage low because kids could do something productive, pursue their dreams, and have a good life if they wanted to. Now a days they get caught with some weed it goes on their record for life and they have no chances of future employment or furthering their education with a criminal record.
So, yes, there are talks of at least decriminalizing marijuana if not legalizing it. In fact if the prison lobby that makes money of the free labor of children hadn't bribed the politicians in congress we would have already legalized it by now. Bribery is also legalized in America. But no way is America at a place where we are ready to legalize drugs more dangerous than alcohol like cocaine, crystal meth, among others. I don't know what planet these people live in.
